So I DM'd the 3.5 version of Dark Sun Saturday and we had a good time. A few players couldn't adjust to the fact that trying to investigate every plant and situation is suicidal, but they figured it out eventually.

Only one player managed to die (and at -10 exactly) the whole 6hr game, and that was in single gladitorial combat.

I did have issues with some psionics, some are simply overpowered and I might be using the system incorrectly. Correct me here... the DC of the will save to resist the psionics is set by a d20 roll plus the applicable stat bonus?

Anyway re: the half giant. Using a swatter (large weapon), he managed to crit for 100 (his avg dmg was in the low to mid 20s on a standard hit). At 3rd level. Indeed impressive when he can actually hit things. I believe the dmg on the weapon was 3d8 + str bonus for the lg weapon. No matter, it was a gith anyway. Squash!

The DC against psionic powers are d20+relevant ability modifier+power level. The same like spell save DCs, just the fix 10 is exchanged to d20 to reflect the more whimsical nature of psionic.

The exception from the above rule is the will save against psionic attack modes, which is d20+relevant ability modifier+cross modifier coming from the attack vs. defense mode.
