these were the atribute modifiers in 2E, taken from the Planescape Campaign Setting, Player's Guide:

Githzerai player characters gain a +1 bonus to Intelligence and Dexterity scores, but suffer a -1 penalty to Strength and Wisdom.

In that case I would let the guy keep playing with +2 int, -2 wis, but have any new Githzerai that get rolled up use +wis/-int.

and let him be a LA +0 char with "only" +2 dex instead of a LA +2 char with +6 dex, and power resistance etc.. i think it's best that i keep the githzerai as is for my current campaign.

That's as bad as the inexplicable change in Tieflings, from Charisma bonus to Charisma penalty. (More annoyingly, the Charisma bonus is more fitting with the new philosophy behind Charisma...)

edit: On the other hand, I'm actually more fond of the 3e Githzerai, as I think it's more flavored and makes a good contrast to the Githyanki.
