#1zombiegleemaxDec 05, 2003 15:56:32 | I recently came back to D&D after a long hiatus and started perusing the Canonfire! site as well as these forums. A couple of months ago I started a campaign based in the Thillonrian penninsula. To my delight I found some fantanstic maps on the Canonfire website and having access to a plotter at work I decided to print these bad boys out for my players. (Thanks Eric!) Unfortunately the poster sized version of Eastern Rhizia is corrupted on Canonfire and so far I haven't found it hosted on anyone elses website. And if you haven't seen these yet do yourself a favor and get an account on Canonfire! and download them. |

They're VERY well researched and have all the locations of all the villages, towns and cities ever mentioned in any supplement. And there are a few little tidbits he's added like the most logical placing of Old Wintershiven (he's a map dude through some sort of geography degree or something so he placed it where he thought it would most likely have been based on all sorts of esoteric criteria ![]() As for the downloads being broke... yeah... been waiting for that to get fixed for MONTHS. I told 'em about it ages ago but still nothing... if you hassle Gary enough it MIGHT get done sooner rather than later, but that requires a LOT of hassling ![]() |
#3ArgonDec 05, 2003 19:56:45 | Yes they are maps and they are fantastic. Actually Eric's maps are the best I've seen ever. If I was a d20 company I would get this man on board for some serious map making. I can appreciate his work more having played with this map making stuff for a while and before I use to draw some kick arse maps. But Eric has a natural talent for these things. My maps now are aweful nothing like they once were. But I think if their is ever another published LG or regular GH supplement made that Eric's maps should be included in them. Eric reminds me of a friend of mine that went to Spain. He was a geography and history major. This guy was **** retentive when it came to maps. His favorite book was the Similaron by Tolkien. He like the geographical references in the book. |
#4zombiegleemaxDec 05, 2003 20:26:47 | Okay, should be all fixed: http://canonfire.com/htmlnew/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=316 Keep me informed of anymore broken downloads (we moved some files and forgot to update all the links.) And yes, the Anondson maps are very cool! -Gary |
#5eric_anondsonDec 06, 2003 11:27:15 | Thanks for the accolades everyone! Knowing they are appreciated this much is very heartening. Regards, Eric Anondson |
#6zombiegleemaxDec 08, 2003 12:28:50 | Thanks, Gary! And thanks again Eric for the great maps. |
#7zombiegleemaxDec 13, 2003 8:12:53 | I'm afraid the West Rhizia maps are still coming up as a missing/broken link, Gary. And yes, Eric, the maps are indeed quite stunning. I'm looking forward to your forthcoming maps dealing with the Sheldomar (especially Geoff). ![]() |
#8zombiegleemaxDec 13, 2003 8:37:44 | Delglath mutters something incomprehensible, and yet somehow you're sure it's rather vulgar and rude, with the only bit you catch being, "...Great Kingdom..." |
#9zombiegleemaxDec 13, 2003 8:57:55 | Huh? ![]() |
#10zombiegleemaxDec 13, 2003 20:48:17 | Give it another try: Rhizia West: http://canonfire.com/htmlnew/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=getit&lid=71 Rhizia East: Paper: http://canonfire.com/htmlnew/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=getit&lid=72 Poster: http://canonfire.com/htmlnew/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=getit&lid=73 -Gary |
#11zombiegleemaxDec 13, 2003 20:50:00 | Oh, I think Delglath was whining about getting the Great Kingdom before the Sheldomar. ![]() I of course, wanna see them both! Plus the Azure Sea, plus the Oljatt Sea, plus the Baklnish Northwest..... Someday! |
