Hey, folks, be sure to check out Dragon #315. It's dedicated to classic D&D settings, and there's a couple of DL articles in amongst them.

Taladas: Angry Dead Gnomes and Sinister Walking Sharks

Dragon Lance: Bozak Draconian Characters

Anyway, thought I would give the heads-up. There's a lot of other nifty articles in there for other worlds as well. Should be fun.

the Angry Dead Gnomes are the Companions of the Dead from Hitehkel turned into a PrC.
The shark cultists are from Payan Mako.

I'm totally jazzed about this =)

Not really the topic I'm anxious to see regarding Taladas.

BTW, shouldn't the issue be renamed Dragon Annual 2003? With the exception of last year's issues, all other Annual issues usually follow the format of offering an article for each settings.

Also, I believe they have to cut a Spelljammer article out due to the issue's limited space.

I'm glad that they didn't just ignore Spelljammer. I'm actually quite surprised at what they did cover. I mean...Maztica? I was surprised by that one. I'm also looking forward to Kara-Tur materials and the article on defilers for Dark Sun. Hoo-wah!

Sounds really cool. And check out the cover. It has Lord Soth rising from Dragonlance's grave.

Oh my gosh! That is so funny! They have the names of each setting on a gravestone. The dead settings rising from the grave, hee hee. I wonder what the insentive was to do this... Maybe more publishers picking up dead settings?

I'm surprised and excited. As FR gamer, I always wanted some information about the other continent on Toril.

Again, as FR gamer, I'm also looking forward to any information regarding Kara-Tur. (Anybody who knows me here probably already know my gripe.) While I'm hoping the article will not be the last, I will take whatever I can get.

Defilers? Kara-Tur? Maztica? Sha'ir? Whoa, I may have to make a system shock roll! ;)

My one complaint is this: why are Ravenloft and Dragonlance lumped along with the "dead" campaigns?

Dragonlance has 3rd edition material out.
Ravenloft has, what, two dozen 3rd edition products out?

Dark Sun -> Squat.
Maztica -> Squat.
Kara-Tur -> Pretty much squat. I don't really count the Oriental Adventures material nor the few pages in Unapproachable East as truly Kara-Tur.
Al-Qadim -> Squat.
Spelljammer -> Mostly squat (there was that Dragon magazine issue a few months back).

Perhaps I am looking at it in the wrong light? Perhaps the graveyard scene indicates that these classic campaigns are surging back to the fore, if they have not already done so? :D

Ravenloft has more products than Forgotten Realms and Grayhawk combined! Bless White Wolf’s dark heart.

Personally, I can take whatever they can give me for now. Perhaps adding more pressure to Wizards will finally force them to slow down the production of Eberron and concentrate on Kara-Tur.

:D

As for the Unapproachable East, it is inevitable now that the Golden Way have opened up since the Horde Invasion was defeated.

Yeah. Perhaps the Dragon magazine issue will be a sign of more Kara-Tur products to come.

Speaking of that Dragon magazine issue, I don't suppose anyone knows just yet whether the Taladas article gives any indication as to what happened there between the last time it was covered (~ 350 AC) to the present (422 AC)?
