#1ripjakDec 07, 2003 20:57:24 | Having heard so much about Taladas I am extremly curious about this other continent. Is there anywhere I can go to find out some more information about it? Hopefully if I can get some more info I can use it as a way to sway my group into playing a DL game by having a mission to find this other 'fabled' civilisation. |
#2darthsylverDec 07, 2003 21:03:00 | One place that I highly recommend is James O'rance's Taladas Webpage It has alot of good information and he has done an extensive amount of work trying to bring Taladas into the fifth age and to make playable during any age and using all sysems, past and present. Very good website |
#3talinthasDec 07, 2003 21:09:43 | the best source of info is the long out of print Time of the Dragon Box Set. there were a few modules that took place here (DLS, i believe, and certainly the Minotaurs of Krynn), but outside of TotD and the work James o'rance has done... |
#4zombiegleemaxDec 07, 2003 22:45:04 | you can get the PDF format of the box set time of the dragon at the following web page. I think it is like $4.95. Also there are most of the other Taladas supplements. http://www.rpgnow.com/default.php?cPath=1_297_307& |
#5zombiegleemaxDec 08, 2003 0:12:00 | I haven't found any ideas about this one. What do you think happened on Taladas during the War Of Souls ? |
#6iltharanosDec 09, 2003 0:14:14 | Originally posted by Seraphistus Well, considering the Qualinesti elves got screwed, along with the Silvanesti elves and the Dargonesti of Watermere ... I'd say it's a pretty safe bet that the elves of Taladas also got screwed over by Takhisis. |
#7brimstoneDec 09, 2003 10:04:17 | Originally posted by iltharanos What happened to them? I don't remember reading anything about them getting "screwed." |

#9silvanthalasDec 09, 2003 13:18:59 | Originally posted by Brimstone I'm guessing the sea dragon that was in the 5th Age trilogy. So, with Brine's death in that trilogy, they've had a bit more time to recover. But then, I don't think they suffered nearly as badly as their land-walking brethen have in WoS. |
#10brimstoneDec 09, 2003 13:24:08 | Originally posted by silvanthalas Yeah...at least Brine didn't take down their city like Beryl did with the Qualinesti, when he went down. heh heh |
#11ferratusDec 09, 2003 13:57:51 | What I want to know is, what happened to those clerically controlled undead in Thenol when the gods left and the Hiteh clerics went caput. Thousands of powerful free-willed undead probably ripped the Bishop Tradamere apart. But then what? |
#12talinthasDec 09, 2003 14:01:18 | I'd assume that given the nature of souls and undead, Thenol would progress something along the paths of Nightlund in the original fifth age plan; that is to say, the undead basically explode outwards, lead by a death knight or so (perhaps the one god finally exerting her influence on a continent that has ignored her for so long), leaving a trail of destruction and stuff. Draining magic everywhere. Good times, really. actually this does sound fun =) *starts planning a campaign* |
#13ferratusDec 09, 2003 14:18:24 | Yeah, I'm really glad the 5th Age failed, given how much the 5th Age team destroyed everything with the Dragon Overlords. The undead invasion probably would have hit Southern Solamnia and Abanasinia, the only places where there are some people left alive. You know a massive invasion I'd like to see in Ansalon these days? A massive invasion of people from across the sea who come, realize there is no one left alive to fight, and settle down and have babies. That'd be sweet. |
#14iltharanosDec 10, 2003 1:41:47 | Originally posted by silvanthalas That was the Dimernesti sea elves. :D The Dargonesti got screwed because of the following description on page 23 of the DLCS: The kingdom (Watermere) remained relatively untouched through the Cataclysm, the War of the Lance, and the Chaos War, but during the War of Souls, much of the kingdom was lost. Now, it's quite open to interpretation what "lost" means in this context. But I'm fairly sure it means the Dargonesti got screwed. ;) Hehe. I love it when elves take a beating. |
#15ferratusDec 10, 2003 4:12:19 | Originally posted by iltharanos I love it when elves are doing the beating. In my next Torbril article I'll describe some gang members in the elven ghetto of Flotsam. |
#16iltharanosDec 11, 2003 0:48:05 | Originally posted by ferratus So these elves have been reduced to a life of crime and squalor? They've been forced to live in elven ghettos in largely human cities? Humans may fear them, but even more so they pity them? Have I mentioned how much I love the post-War of Souls environment? :D |
#17ferratusDec 11, 2003 1:41:56 | Originally posted by iltharanos Not squalor. I figured the elves would get enough of that in other places. Plus, I read that Zeboim really likes the elves now. Appearantly she lets them cross even the most treacherous oceans safely, out of gratitude for Silvanoshei slaying Takhisis. Guess where you can catch a ride to Taladas!
You can take the elf out of Silvanesti, but you can't take the Silvanesti out of the elf. The Silvanesti elves have a very beautiful (if cramped) peice of Flotsam, with a high iron gate ringing around it. The criminal mob that runs the place have hung a tresspasser or two on these iron gates once or twice.
I love it too. Much better than cleaning up after the HotL, or being an impotent stooge of dragons you can't kill. |
