Thread Title : Help finding old module

For nostalgia purposes I'm looking for and old module.  It had a list of NPCs that the party could hire.  One of them was "Krago of the Mountains".  I know that's not alot of information, but can anyone remember which module this is from?

One thing I just noticed:  good old Krago's Strength Score uses the percentile system for AD&D.  However, the module clearly states on the front that is for the D&D Basic rules set, which, to the best of my knowledge, did not use the percentile system for strength.

I guess the people who worked on the module were playing AD&D while they worked on it! :)

Percentile strength was introduce in the Greyhawk supplement for (non-A)D&D.

The original Basic Set was something of an oddball itself, as it seems to draw from from both D&D and AD&D (which was being developed at contemporaneously) as well as some things that don't appear in any other edition.

While I don't think the original Basic Set had percentile strength, people likely used the Greyhawk supplement with the Basic Set or B1 with the original rules plus Greyhawk. The percentile may have been included as a nod to anyone doing that.

On the other hand, I think the Basic Set itself is evidence that TSR at the time thought of the game as fairly amorphous entity. They happily glossed over minor differences from product to product. (See also the D&D FAQ that appeared in an issue of the Strategic review.)

Nigh everything in AD&D appeared first either in the supplements or The Strategic Review/The Dragon. The AD&D version may be tweaked, more evolved, more detailed, &c.; but it's nearly all there.
