Interesting. It reminds me of some independant horror film I saw a couple years back--I forget the name, though it came out after The Blair Witch Project.

Yeah, I seem to remember what you mean... a quick Google turns up The St. Francisville Experiment, a Blair Witch-styled "documentary" about some young psychic investigators/history students spending a night in the Lalaurie house.

Unfortunately, such reviews as I remember of it suggest it didn't live up to its potential.

An understatement.

I would be wary of any info you get from that site. I did some checking on their other stuff, and a lot of the Oklahoma stuff is full of very obvious mistakes, especially the Murdoc's Mansion part.

My roommates at the time liked the movie, though I could take it or leave it. Of course, they'd convinced themselves that it was real....

Scipio: I figure any site that claims there are real hauntings is playing really fast and loose with the truth but the prarieghost version of the Lalaurie house story seemed to have the most RPG potential. ;)

The St. Francisville Experiment...

I just watchted that about a month ago, and it was the funniest thing I'd seen in a while. I just loved how the 'authentic' haunting events in the house were so wonderfully shot in frame and focus.

Just a note, but if you want a really entertaining story of the Lalaurie house and have the money to burn, you should plan a trip to New Orleans and join one of the Haunted History tours. The guide that was leading the one I took really got into the role of a storyteller.
