I want to talk about 2 things in this post:
1 A fantasy role playing computer game set in the planescape continuum.
2 The planescape's Wizard of the coast strategy:

First the game is called Torment and I gave the idea around wich it was built to the Interplay.

Second the Wizard's company has got to have a division that develops (and helps other companies develop) software for playing AD&D and D&D.

That game was sodding awesome. Honestly one of my favorite computer games of all time, and easily the best CRPG I know of. The plot was so well-written, deep, and actually interesting that I would love to see this thing turned into a movie, though that would probably ruin it. Hmm... idea, cutters. A Planescape movie. Yummy.

As for a specific WotC division for computer software development, I'm fairly certain no such division exists. Though there is a group designing Planescape features for Neverwinter Nights. There's some material released, but not as much as they're planning on. City of Doors Initiative Unfortunately, it hasn't been updated in over a month.

Personally, I'd love to see Faction War made into a movie. You'd need another movie before it just to introduce the setting, though, probably two so it'd conform to the rule of threes.

have to agree that faction war would make a great VG, as it is my favorite PS book by far (can anyone tell?) but i really must throw in my support for Torment being a great game! its one of the few CRPGs that still make me want to play it long after ive beeten it many times over.

*agrees* Planescape is the best CRPG of all, bar none. And one of my favourite games of all time (Along with Starcraft, Star Control 2 and Master of Magic)

Not to chime in as a 'me too' style post, but I also felt that the Planescape: Torment CRPG was indeed one of the best role-playing games I've had the pleasure of playing. It was nice in that you were not some grand heroic stereotype out to save the world from the Big Bad Evil Guy as is seen in umpteen hundred other roleplaying games. The quest was far more a personal one of self discovery. I don't think I've enjoyed any other computer or console game as much as Torment, except perhaps Starfleet I and II.

Misfit, are you claiming to have created the idea of Planescape: Torment?
