Actually I believe that is Lidda. A halfling Rogue.

But the 3.5E Halfling does have alot of similiarities with the kender of Krynn.

I have the Draconomicon, and I think it's fantastic. There's lots of materials in there, including a fair amount that would work for Dragonlance.

And yes, that's a (*cough*) halfling. ;)

Not a kender. A halfling. A lightfoot halfling, to be more precise.

I just got the Draconomicon. Even if it doesn't really have Dragonlance stuff, there is a lot of stuff about dragons. And I seem to recall that dragons were a pretty important part of Dragonlance.

Hmm... The fang dragons, being chaotic, could make good Chaos-spawn dragons... Hmm... The possibilities are infinite...

The halflings of old made you think of the old Hobbit cartoon, stout and barefooted, since that's what old school D&D was based on. Since DL came out, it seems that Kender have endured to the hearts of many and that is now the perception of a halfling (minus the kleptomania, hehe).
It just goes to show you the popularity and strength of DL.

I much prefered the halfling to have significant physical differences though. I can understand making them skinny, but making them kender look alikes, including the topknot and ears? That seems like a bad decision to me. It makes the Kender and Halfling both less unique. I hope this is just an artist's mistake, or a mistake of picking the wrong art. I'll have to check the 3.5 PHB tomorrow to see if the description of them has changed.

You know, it may be good to start a new thread on the similarities and differences of the 3e halfling and kender. That would be a good discussion, and we can continue on with the discussion of the Draconomicon on this thread.

You're right, my apologies.

I have heard good things about the book, by the way, but I do not own it myself.

Hmm, I have flipped through it some, and it does have some very, very nice spells for dragons.

I bought the Draconomicon when it came out and I have found it an invaluable source for a DL campaign.

I can't wait to throw a Shadow Dragon at them with the clinging breath feat! Thats going to be nasty.

Sorry DH but I just have to throw one statement about Lidda in here.

You have to remember that Lidda is a female and only one halfling, as such this does not by any means indicate that she represents the view of the entire halfling race.

Now as for the draconimicon.

Yes there is alot of stuff in there that I have just barely had a chance to take a look at. But I really enjoy the pictures of the dragons.

One of the things I really like is the different types of items you can create from the pieces of the dragon. A few years back I had a ranger who hunted dragons and of course took trophies as proof. Well he also worked these items into magical items that he created or had created and this section reminded me of that character of mine.

Me too! i love this section! I didn't like how they did the armour section though...
For example it say that I can only make 1 human-sized suit of Full Plate from a colossal dragon!! What is that all about? When you look at the pictures that compare sizes you see you could get a hell of a lot more than that!
