Hi, I'm the new guy I suppose. I love planescape. I've always wanted to run a successful planescape campaign or be a player in one, but its pretty hard when your like the only one who knows anything about the planes. So yeah, I guess that's all.

Xanxost knows how you feel, mortal. Except that Xanxost has a few planar canny players around. Round what? Carceri is round.
On the subject of Carceri, gehreleths are not extremely tasty, but very enjoyable to chew on.

Yes, it is difficult playing with the Clueless. Perhaps if you did something about that Cholera you'd get some better cutters to play with you.

In any case, to play a good game with non-planars start them off as Clueless, that way they can learn along with their characters. Its fun and easy.
Welcome to our little corner of the multiverse, Choleric Psion, don't get in the way of the monodrones, don't talk to the Slaadi, and don't listen to Center of All. If you listen to those rules you'll get along well. If not, its your own fault.

Oh yeah, and never make fun of the Yugoloths if you want to wake up in the morning. The famous Shemeska is here among us, somewhere.

Actually, I think it's BETTER the first time you have a Planescape campaign, with everyone as clueless. Sure, it's interesting to have a group who has the ol' Planescape attitude and knows about everything, but it's also incredibly interesting to have a group see the planes each for the first time and learn to understand what's going on there. I think that's a lot of fun. One of my favorite ways to start these is to somehow get them to a vantage point where they can watch a battle in the blood war. Then again, I just like to see those fiends go at it.

In terms of advice for a campaign I'll give the same advice that I give to everyone asking for advice on campaigns: do what your pcs like. For all the differences in the Planes, the adventures you do can still be about the same things, really. Whatever your pcs are into you can certainly find a simulacrum of it within the planes--but likely with enough twists to keep them on their feet.

While there's nothing wrong with messing with and playing some tricks on the 'loths, don't mess with the Planewalker's guild or we'll be forced to blast you off the wheel.

"Oh I won't bite Rhys, and I'm still here. I've just not had regular computer access, and won't till after the 3rd or so. But I'm in such a jovial mood here on vacation in Khin-Oin. The Oinoloth was such a sweety and gave me some lovely gifts. The General of Gehenna even stopped by singing some carols with about twenty Ultraloths. True it would have made mortal heads explode, but that was the fun part, we had a bunch of mortals there and watched 'em go off like fireworks."

*smiles and nibbles on a poisoned candy cane*

"And I got an absolutely naughty present from A'k..*cough* Umm... nevermind. Forget you heard that."

"But I'll be back in Sigil soon to lord over all you sods, and remember to have 'your morals all tossed by the wayside without care, in the hopes that Shemeska soon would be there.'"

Or something like that Hope everyone's been having a good holiday.

Fascinating...I didn't know the General of Gehenna sang. That would've been an event of a lifetime. Especially if you are mortal. Thank the Balance that I'm not.

But do welcome aboard and do something about your cholera, please.
