Where is all the Elmore Art?

Just wondering- when I bought the DLCS book, I found that it really didnt seem like the old DragonLance I knew and loved from the my halycon schooldays of running the Tales of the Lance campaign.

The two reasons for this was setting it in the alien Age of Mortals setting, and the utter absence of any of the familiar and excellent Elmore artwork that graced previous products.

Can anyone tell me why Elmore got missed out on the book? Has he fallen out with Soveriegn press or something? Or did the editor go insane and not like his art?

Thx.

The DLCS is a WotC produced book, so they were the ones who decided who did art. The centaur is an Elmore piece, so he is in there.

Elmore has had a light stroke (or was it a heart attack?) recently, so he's been a bit out of it. He also has been in the business long enough now that he doesn't come cheap.

Don't worry, Elmore continues to grace the pages of Dragonlance gaming products, as is seen with the awesome pic on the DL DM Screen. He may not do every pic, but he's certainly going to be around.

The Fizban in the beginning of the book was also by Elmore.

Me, I'd like to see less Elmore. But then again, I'm a rarity among DL fans since I don't like Elmore's art one bit.

Ditto. Me? I'm a Wayne Reynolds, Vinod Rams fan. There's the one good elf picture by Rams in the DLCS, but he's underutilized in most books now-a-days. Elmore's work has always seemed far too... "Old fashioned" to me.

Don't get Wayne Reynolds (the artist) confused with Sean Reynolds (the designer).

I knew who I meant, and then I changed it, and I was not at my computer os I couldn't check it. I always get those things wrong!

Actually, i almost put Andrew Reynolds the first time. But Andrew Reynolds is a pro skateboarder and not a kickass artist or a game designer.

I like both but I'm not very picky about anything.
