I wanted to do something other then the "generic" hoopak for my kinder to wield. So I'm looking for the Kinder names for weapons. Probably asked all the time but forum search just wasn't helping. Oddly Kipper's site provided very little help.

It's not for a game so stats aren't necessary for the odd ones, but while were at it we could write them up, that way Kipper's weapons section won't be so puny.;)

Kender weapon names are relatively easy to create.

First, decide if the weapon is mainly used by male kender, or by female kender. Male kender weapons end in -pak, female ones end in -pik. The hoopak, chapak, etc are traditionally male weapons, for example, while the whippik and sashik are female ones.

Secondly, the name usually has something to do with the weapon itself. This is in large part due to some unoriginality in the designers of the Tales of the Lance boxed set, really - the whippik is a whip-like weapon, the sashik is a weighted sash. You get the picture.

Cheers,

Yay, now we can make stuff up. I'll rember the naming conventions if he ever gets bored.

Thanks Cam

I'd recommend looking at the Tales of the Lance boxed set. Each kender weapon is sort of a dual-purpose weapon. Sithak (?) is a bow that also functions as a double-sword. Chapak is a "snapper-axe", etc. Also, the Chapak functions as a flute!

You should also check out Kencyclopedia.com. Kipper has some goodies there on kender weapons in his Kencyclopedia Kender Handbook (free download).
