Thinking of starting a chat game in Greyhawk

I've been thinking of starting a game online (ironic that they'd start a listserv about online gaming at the same time, eh?) using IRC. I once did, what I felt, was a fairly successful attempt at online gaming on a messageboard, however that ended abruptly 'cause of a banning. Besides which, MB games are too slow for my liking.

IRC games seem to be very much like MB games but they're in real time and you have access to dicebots and other software like OpenRPG.

Anyway, I thought I'd get some expressions of interest first. I would be using PiEd with Arcana Unearthed modifications, as well as a lot of homebrew rules. The setting would be MY Greyhawk and as such one should not expect the setting to be totally as THEY see it.

I also have a lot of rules pertaining to character creation and classes and expect a LOT of interaction and creativity from my players. If you're not the type who can handle a heavy-handed DM who expects a lot of involvement from the players in the creation of the game as a fun experience for all (most people tend to rely on the DM to entertain them), then don't apply. If you think I'm trying to scare you off, you'd be right. I'm not interested in casual players or those who aren't willing to put in an effort.

The game will be held, most likely, from around 8pm Central until someone says die. The day would have to be discussed. I can start earlier, as early as 5pm Central, however that would depend a lot on the group and the day we play as to availability.

Hi delgath, long time no "see", your idea sounds great and alot of fun, if I had the time, I would like to participate. However with 18 credit hours and full time work and martial arts, no time left for me. I fyou would like someone to bounce ideas off of, let me know, i'm a great idea man!
Later!!!

I'll sign up if the day fits. But what is PiED? And what kind of software does my computer need to participate in stuff like that?

Heh, PiEd is simply a mixture of 3rd ed and 3.5 ed, making it 3.1416 edition D&D... get it?

And as for software, I don't think I'll use anything other than the mapping tools at a website that I forget the name of and you don't need anything but java and javascript in your browser to see them.
