Jan 10, 2004 21:41:53 does anyone know of a online store that sells out of print items. i'm looking for the dark sun boxed set. i have found a place to download it on pdf, but i would prefer the real thing, if i can find it. thanks for any help you can give me.

has anyone heard of darksun being released in may '04? i was wondering if this was going to be an actual published book, and not a download thing like on burnt world of athas. if it is to be released, is wizards doing it, or are they letting another company like they did dragonlance and ravenloft? thanks again.

Jan 10, 2004 23:13:04 WotC has no plans to publish a book that I know of.

However, athas.org has been deemed the official site for Darksun and all their work for 3.0-3.5 is deemed official as well.

Also, there will be a Dragon/Dungeon crossover in May of this year of another DS 3.5 conversion.

(Scroll down to the bottom of the list and you'll also see one going for $1,000.00!!! This must be the much sought-after "Gold Leaf" edition, containing Troy Denning's original teeth and the 6 foot tall inflatable bouncy Rajaat miniature. Or something).

Jan 11, 2004 10:43:53 I just used the PDF files - they IMHO are better than the books. When I need to print something, I flip on one of my myriad number of printers that are threatening to take over my apartment, and print it.

Question - when you have 5 computers, and that only represents about 2% of the total number of things connected to your home network... Do you think you might have too many printers?

Jan 11, 2004 12:35:36 One word man: Ebay. Over the last couple of years I've been able to pick up a lot of the old Dark Sun material, a lot of them still in shrink wrap! Give it a go and as with any ebay auction make sure they show a picture of the product so you can see the actual condition. Good Luck!

Actually I thought the gold leaf version was the one containing a dehydrated clone of Troy Denning in it, as well as the 6 foot tall inflatable Rajaat. Just add water, and watch Troy come alive!

That would be useful to have, you could ask him questions on what this really meant etc, as well as torture him for some of the less liked things of DS.

In all seriousness, the $1,000 one must be that mini one that didn't get many printrings. Still need that one for my collection.

One of these mini was sold over ebay 2 weeks ago, it was sold for about 30$ USD.

Actually, I just bout one combined with Elminster's Ecologies (which I gave away) for $5 using Buy It Now. The same guy posts another set like this each week.

Jan 15, 2004 7:00:29 I've purchased 2 sets of each Dark sun item on Ebay or in local hobby stores, scanned them and now have them all on my computer. saves you from ever losing them. I just print what I need and make my notes on them. Saves wear and tear on your books
