One of the players in my Dragonlance campaign plays a Favored Soul, from the Miniatures Handbook. He's a Favored Soul of Habbakuk, so I had him select his spells known from the druid list rather than the cleric list.

I plan on using many of the prestige classes, feats and other elements from both books in my campaign. The swashbuckler (from the Complete Warrior) is a nice class, as is the marshal (makes a great Knight of Solamnia pre-cursor) and the healer from the Miniatures HB.

I'm very happy with the books, so I hope you get some use out of them!

Cheers,
Cam

Cool, thanks...

Are there any classes/PrC's that you think are way out of control for DL?

Some don't fit so neatly.

The warmage is a spontaneous spellcaster with a very narrow spell list. Useful as an alternative to sorcerers, perhaps, but totally out of place in the Wizards of High Sorcery.

The samurai, hexblade, and other classes could be made to fit, but the really important thing in determining whether you want to use these classes or not is whether they end up making sense in your campaign.

I know that many people wouldn't dream of using the favored soul in Dragonlance, since spontaneous spellcasting seems to be the province of ambient/wild magic spellcasters, but the favored soul gains his power from a deity. Then again, I'm sure there are people who think the hexblade is just what they've been looking for, as members of a new cult of Hiddukel worshippers. It's something you need to investigate on a case by case basis.

Cheers,

I still havent received the books as of yet but a Minotaur Hexblade or Kensai just seems to be tugging at me.
