I know that the forthcoming Map Folio I will feature maps from WotC's "Map a Week" Web page. But, is there any intelligence regarding the inclusion of the Greyhawk map from the 2000 LGG?

My map is showing some wear. I want to get my hands on a new one. Map Folio seems like a good place. I'm sure it's wishful thinking, but I am wondering if anyone knows or has heard anything about it.

Wait...

The Map Folio is just printed versions of the Map-A-Week feature?

Well, that at least tells me I don't need to bother checking the thing out, I was skeptical about buying a book full of just maps anyway since a) It's been done by a couple D20 companies for far less than the price I expect WotC to charge, and b) there are so many excellent maps available for free on the net.

I suppose it's a decent option for those without a net connection or printer, but for me, no thanks.

Yes, it's true, Rich. I quote:

Taken from the WotC Products Web page - Map Folio I
Originally developed for the Map-a-Week feature, these maps are the first in a new series of materials created to help you add flavor and functionality to your D&D game.

I don't disparage the maps or who did them. I will get Map Folio, it's cheap and easy. But, I was hoping to see more than Map-a-Week items, e.g., a Greyhawk Map. But I suppose, if there was a GH map, Forgotten Realms would have to have its map, etc.

Does anyone know if these are the big unfoldy-type maps? If so, it might be worth it. Otherwise why would anyone buy it? (Unless they have no internet connection or printer, as mentioned by Greyhack.) Maybe by "originally developed" they mean maps that were never posted on the website?

Hey, Mithiach. It is my understanding that the maps in Map Folio I are maps that were posted on Map-a-Week. "Originally developed" meaning that the maps are specifically for the Map-a-Week feature. There will not be any new maps in the forthcoming folio.

I don't know about the "big, unfoldy-type maps" issue. Given the price of Map Folio I, it is just under $10, I don't think we'll see large, poster-size maps. But, I am speculating.

Like I said before, I'll pick up a copy of Map Folio I. As generic as it might be, it's cheap and I always find something useful in even the most deplorable products. ;) If there is a poster-size GH map, I'll buy two or three of the freakin' things!
