#1zombiegleemaxJan 14, 2004 9:23:29 | Does anyone else miss the 2nd edition? I'm sorry to bring this up frequently, but I loved all of that gaming experience. I have everything in it including my updated information on accessories and campaigns. Scott |
#2zombiegleemaxJan 14, 2004 10:49:04 | You are still allowed to play 2e if you like. |
#3zombiegleemaxJan 14, 2004 11:03:38 | Some of us still do. Conversion isn't that hard- particularly when no new material for a setting is forthcoming. |
#4xlorepdarkhelm_dupJan 14, 2004 20:35:08 | It's forthcoming, just hasn't arrived. |
#5zombiegleemaxJan 15, 2004 6:51:09 | Thanks Xlorep, I love Dark sun and am having trouble switching. I think I'm just old fashioned, I began playing in 1979 with brothers and friends and am set in my ways. when I read others info on new ideas, I feel as though I'm experiencing some sort of reading incomprehension problem. Not Whining just love the "OLD WAYS" I do however, like the idea of brutes, et al. new classes races, maps and adventures get me stirred, almost as much as the gorgeous Doctors and nurses that I am blessed to work beside. I'm still trying to finish my work on Rajaats citadel as well as the other work I'm currently on. L8r Scott |
#6xlorepdarkhelm_dupJan 15, 2004 10:50:34 | I'm not actually on the athas.org team which is doing the conversion & release of the new material, but when those who are keep mentioning that they are working on it, usually every other or every third post, when someone says "there is no new material coming out for DS" I just don't comprehend how they could have thought that. There isn't new printed books coming out, but the PDF's from athas.org are far superior IMO. I haven't been playing D&D quite as long as you, having started roleplaying in '85 (Marvel Universe), then I migrated to Rolemaster (also a hodge-podge of different other systems that my friends at the time would bring up to play), which was my primary system for roleplaying until about '98, when I switched to D&D after playing a few sessions of Dark Sun, during my Army AIT. |
#7zombiegleemaxJan 15, 2004 11:28:34 | Xlorep, I was a 68D Blackhawks and Apache Mechanic, I'm active Duty Air Force Now. I Love the Athas. Org Guys, I actually want to incorperate them into my Campaign. I.E. Jon as my Oracle located at the Nexus, Sebastien as my guide (Draqoman) in a City-State of his Choice, Brom as a Dwarven Lord in a distant Kingdom, Brax as a Mul Gladiator Slave tribe leader near Celik, Denning as a Hermit Sage hidden in the Sea of Silt, Diesel as a Dwarf slave driven by the focus to paint all races of Athas, You get the Idea. Because you like to use Lord Soth, I think I'll make you a Kaisharga "living" near my Citadel of Rajaat. Maybe protecting it until Rajaat returns Infinite ides |
#8xlorepdarkhelm_dupJan 15, 2004 12:14:30 | Lol, I use lord soth currently, but I've switched my icon at least twice... Nice tho. |
#9zombiegleemaxJan 15, 2004 12:22:09 | What will happen is we will be hit by 1/2 dozen projects at once and then we'll read posts like "no more! I'm still reading the last one!" :D |

#11zombiegleemaxJan 16, 2004 10:37:39 | Me and my friends still play 2e with only some little changes. We are playing Darksun since 8 years now, and still having great fun with 2nd edition. |
