My 3e RL Campaign... wow!

Hey everyone, I'm new to these groups (kinda slunk in here and lurked for abit after the Kargatane and their little bookstore became dust) and I thought one that I would introduce myself and two introduce my campaign.

Well I've been a DnD player for about seven years now, all of this time I have spent DMing and for about six of those years I've been doing Ravenloft products and campaigns. I have recently (within the last year) shifted over to a new 3e RL campaign as I always liked the old 2e stuff (I LOVED the VRG compendiums).

Anyways... my campaign that I am running involves my PC's, a group containing a Psion, a fighter Genasi, a female fighter, a female ranger and a female cleric (who has recently lost her memory).

The basis of my campaign revolves around a long dead deity from the FR line, Moander the Darkbringer. He acts as the central villain of teh campaign, forced to inhabit mortal bodies until his essence decomposes them completely. Right now the party knows him only as a prominent mining company owner who lives in Dementlieu.

So far the party has now clue about who the villain is (we've gone about eleven 5ish hour sessions) and many interesting things have happened, such as one PC contracting Lycanthropy (without her knowing it) and another PC who has been replaced by a doppleganger spy (she's currently roleplaying the doppelganger to determine her exp).

I've got them in Moander's Mansion scouring it (it's the only "dungeon" crawl I've ever done in RL) and I intend to have them find some information that will lead them to Sithicus, where the campaign will continue (I intended to send them there before I got my hands on Gaz IV but now I have to!)

Anyways, yeah that's my campaign!

Hello and welcome! Sounds like a hot concept you got going there.

Just remember -- when your players reach Sithicus and hear rumblings about its former Lord, he's referred to as the Cursed Knight

peace!

I do hope these are actual female players... something just isn't right about guys who willingly play female characters (NPCS played by the DM not included in this).

Ok get ready for this... ok... ok...! There's actually three females in the party (along with all female parts :P) there's a 3/2 ratio in my party for females. 3/3 if u include myself (the dungeon basta... master).

And yes the "cursed knight" indeed... I was SO annoyed not once seeing the word "soth" OH NO I SAID IT! :P

No, I just intend to have the party follow "Valtein" who has left his mansion and has entered Sithicus. There I want them to meet Jameld of Hroth (see VR:A1) who I'm thinking of building up to be the "savior" of Sithicus, a new king to elves.

I have never done it but what's wrong with a female character being played by a male? Just as long as two PC's don't fall in love then it could get weird but even then I don't really see a problem...

Anyway I like the ideas you are going with in your campaign. Always considered doing the dobbleganger thing but never did. I love lycanthropy I once had two members of the PC party contract it and get imprisioned shortly afterward. Really strange for them to wake up with a 3/4 eaten corpse in their cell with them (NPC) and not know anything about it or "get awoken while the murder was going on".

The doppelganger thing has been working out quite well because the PC who is roleplaying it is doing a fantastic job of "helping" the party but not really helping them. During a combat she accidently opened a door that threw another monster at them...

Speaking of monsters, I've been trying to find various "beasties" that Moander would use. I've come to use the Blightspawned template found in Unapproachable East, as well as some of the plant beasties in DoD. If you have any suggestions I'm all ears.

Or The Black Rose, which, to be honest, sounds more foreboding.

Actually I play a female character at the moment. She's a halfling druid, but also a lesbian (is a reason, not for smutty, childish amusement).

The whole male playing female thing isn't that bad, I DMed it once before and as long as the player is true to the "roleplaying spirit" it really works.

On another topic... Do any of you know where I could find information on Moander? My current reference is the old Faiths & Avatars book from Forgotten Realms 2e and I'm looking for more "fluff" to use as right now I'm "fudging" a few things

A KoDT reference, I do believe.
