Ideas for monks of Pholtus or Cuthbert?

After doing a quick search here and on Canonfire! it seems there is precious little on monastic orders other than the Scarlet Brotherhood. I have a PC who wants to play a non-evil monk and we were thinking of either Pholtus or St. Cuthbert. Each seems to have logical reasons for having fairly strong monastic orders, but of course there is nothing "official". This is what we have so far:

Pholtus- Order of the Blinding Strike. Purpose is to instill discipline and act as a force to ensure that law prevails even among the clergy. Something like an inquisition that is utterly inflexible and adheres strictly to orthodox canon.

St. Cuthbert- Order of the Ruby Fist. Purpose is to assist in securing followers through demonstrations of ability and prowess. Assist the Clerics in spreading the word in dangerous or heathen lands. Specifically, once high enough levels they act as special agents "Fiend Slayers" to vanquish the forces of Iuz.

These are just RAW ideas...any suggestions?

I like those ideas, Jag. What we need to establish, for each discipline, is a monestary where our potential Pholtan and Cuthbertine monks can train, meditate, be tested, etc.

The obvious venue for a Pholtan monestary is the Pale. Any other suggestions? How about a place in the Rakers, a secluded mountian meadow above the Pale where the Order of the Blinding Strike can indoctrinate and train its monks. Maybe even a prison where lawbreakers atone and serve a penitance.

Tha same idea for the Order of the Ruby Fist. Maybe somewhere in Verbobonc, the Kron Hills, perhaps. These disciplinarians are trianed to teach the faith - enforcing discipline with the fist, instead of the club, since students might be younger. These erudites, constantly around Cutherbertine doctrine and philosophy, are above the mere swinging of a simple cudgel in barbaric fashion. They strike where it hurts most with the Ruby Fist in a calm, detatched manner.

What do you think? What other direction do you want to take?

I sort of also replied to this post in the other post about Monks in Greyhawk. Check that out. I hope it is useful.
