Bully Wugs are used in the Greyhawk campaign(In Keoland) but they do not appear in the MM.

3e stats are located in Monsters of Faerun, along with Leucrotta and several other, non-campaing specific monsters.

to my knowledge Bullywugs have never appeared ina book tittled Monster Manual ;)

they are in the 2e Monstrous manual and the 1e Fiend Folio however.

Bullywug Savants were featured in LGJ 2 -- what a creepy illustration!

The fluff for Sunndi also features them. I haven't seen MoF so can anyone tell me how they differ from 2nd edition bullywugs?

Do they still have natural armor and attacks? Do they worship Wastri or do they have some other god (I don't think Wastri is on FF)?

Bullywugs as a race have never worshiped Wastri, they have thier own racial god, although I would not be surprised to learn that a majority of the Bullywugs from the vast swamp worshiped the hopping prophit instead. (on the other hand I have always wondered why Wastri would accept the worship of bullywugs, grungs etc.... considering he is the god of bigotry and human superiority).

in 3e they have a natural armor rating of +3, and they didn't give them any natural attacks... they all wear armor and have weapons, so the ones dixcribed in MoF seem to be of the "advanced" variety. they are 1 HD humaniods (meaning thier racial HD is replaced by thier class level, and the stats for the bullywug listed are for a 1st level warrior). They get +6 con, -4 to Int, Wis, and Cha

it mentions that they frequently gain levels as barbarians, and as many as 10% of the bullywugs in a pond could be clerics (which is odd considering thier wisdom penalty)... although it doesn't say which if either is thier favored class...

all in all the bullywug write up in MoF is not that great.

I quess expectional Bullywugs could become up to 6th level clerics with their wisdom of 13

Look pretty lame so no wonder they have to live in swamps. What is their racial god?

According to the 2e DMGR4 (P.101), Bullywugs revere Ramenos, a lesser god, whose aspects are somnolence, intoxication, and decay. He looks like a frog with a very large mouth. Rumors have it that other, stronger, and more intelligent (and now extinct) amphibian creatures worshipped him. His power has been in steady decline.

This is going to drive me nuts now.

There was a 1st Ed. module that was largely centered around bullywugs and mongrelmen, and I believe it was the first appearance of both. It had a brown cover, and the art depicted a bullywug getting shot through with magic missiles, I believe. Can't remember the name or series number, bought it in 6th grade or something, which would have made it 1982 or 1983, and does make me old.

Basically, at least in that module, they bore a striking resemblance to the cartoon version of Gollum from 'The Hobbit'.....a skinny frog that walks on two legs, big mouth, etc.

BINGO!
THANK YOU! I was going to be dragging that annoying little half-memory with me all day otherwise.

Hmmmm............wonder if my best friend from 6th grade still has it......
