Has anyone undertaken the project of converting the epic adventures over into 3rd ed ?

Note sure what you mean by "epic adventures".

You mean Dregoth Ascending and The Emissary (which was originally part of Secret of the Dead Lands)?

Though the former may be epic, the latter isn't.

Actually what I was talking about was the adventures that follow the prism pentad.

The one in "Beyond the Pentad"?

I'm sure someone will convert that eventually, if not athas.org.

I could be mistaken, but I don't think they can convert the adventures that are available in print. They can convert the rules that are used for those adventures (IE: the DS3 project), but the adventures aren't able to be re-released by athas.org.

Correct, just NPC, monster, etc stats and any other rule mechanics.

I'm converting the stats for the various flipbook adventures as I run them for my current DS game. Only done the first couple so far - I could clean them up an post them somewhere if there's enough interest (and when I have enough time ;) )

I wouldn't mind posting them to my site if you don't mind.

Was planning on doing all the NPCs anyway, want to make it a joint effort?

Send me an email man.

Sounds like a good idea

I'll 3.5-ize what I've done and bounce it your way in a couple of days. (Gotta dust off "Arcane Shadows" first for the weekend... ;) )

I suggest you take a look at the official conversion policy before posting anything online...

Yup, stat blocks only.

I know this already. hehe

Oh and the SRD.

/me sighs

Oh well, pretty sure I'm below their radar, heh.

Good thing too - like I really wanna rewrite the flavour text for such luminaries as Ch'chkraran and Liurgand :D

I have noticed in the flip books that some things aren't detailed very clearly, so i was wondering if it is ok to work out things like radius, and distance for such things, since converting NPC's is ok?

You're allowed to convert anything related to the system but nothing else, so stats of that kind should be fine. F. ex. there's a poison in Freedom (used to shanghai PCs into the slave pits) that would need converting to 3e format...

what i mean is there is a bloody timiris plant for example in one of the first adventures and it never says the directly the specs, you have to work them out using math, and i was wondering if things like that would be fine to convert?

If it's game system, yes, flavor, no. That's a good rule of thumb to work with when converting.

Or, for that matter, any other party.

Expressed permission from WotC, of course, changes that.

So have you dropped this project or.... I would really like to get my hands on these conversion as I was htinking about running DS for guys who now nothing about it and the Prism Pentad series sounded as good as any to play.

The first set of NPC conversions for Freedom are complete and hosted here on Nyt's site. Took a bit of a break to start work on edits for Terrors of Athas but the next set should be finished soon . Hopefully will get back up to speed on those sharpish...

Thank you for converting this! I am going to run Freedom tomorrow and was originally planning on just winging the conversions...now I don't have to!

Heh, blast from the past, this . You're welcome. My DS game has since died a sandy death, following my move to the UK but I am busy getting another group together, so I suppose I'll get back to converting stats from the other adventures when the time rolls around...

@ Kamelion:
Please send me a mail if you converted more of "Arcane Shadows" than what you mailed me some time ago. I might want to have a look at it.

Hey, thanks . I was thinking about that and couldn't remember how much you had edited the conversions that I had done. Dopey Kamelion . I think I was pretty much done with those, so I'll send you what I have. I ran Road to Urik next but had to finish it rather abruptly due to my move, but I suppose I could dig out the work that I did for that one too.

TerminusVortexa mentioned in another thread that he has conversions for the published DS adventures also, so maybe we can get them all up and posted sooner rather than later (especially seeing as I am totally without games at the moment...)

Just a reminder, please follow the official rules for posting conversions, else athas.org can't put them up on our website.

Perhaps a reference to said official rules would help? ;)

Said reference was posted in post #10 of this thread, but I will post another link below for convenience, since the first one does not appear to be working at the moment:

Also, examples of conversions can be found at the Conversion Library on ENWorld:
http://www.enworld.org/forums/local_links.php?action=links&catid=16

(if the link doesn't take you directly there, go to Downloads -> Conversion Library)
