Hi all.

The following is an idea i have had for some time but only just placed into web format.

Please take a look and give any feedback or comments as you see fit.

Thanks.

No offense, but in one fell swoop, you've taken away the unique qualities of the fighter. There's reasons that the Fighter has the largest number of Bonus Feats for any class, and even then it is only every-other-level, plus an extra one at level 1. What you've done would be akin to making a class which casts spells like a wizard, but has twice as many spell slots, and can cast from any arcane & divine spell lists (while being limited from manifesting psionics through this class). It's an interesting, if very unbalanced class IMHO.

Agreed with xlorep.

This is not a D&D class, rather it's something of a combination of Rolemaster, and other similar game systems, with a hint of D&D in it.

No class should have that much leeway at what options it can and cannot pick, not in the D&D system anyways, where such a thing would break the system's back.

I understand what you both mean but the idea was not to detract from any particular character class but rather to create a more versatile one.
In relation to the fighter, which i agree is the closest class, i decided to lower the BAB and HD to compensate.

Maybe i haven;t gone far enough

...... or maybe I've gone too far

You've gone too far IMHO.

What you have done won't work in D&D IMO and be balanced at the same time.

Not sure what I can suggest to accomplish what you are trying to accomplish in this system.

The thing about it is this - you've made it more comperable to a rogue, but the bonus feat each level makes it much more popular to a power-gaming technique (because all those feats!) than a rogue. There is significantly less skill points, but by level 10, one of these could potentially wipe out dozens of opponents. Further, this class becomes the only class that can actually get every single combat feat in the PHB, plus a bunch of others. Why would someone want to play a Fighter over this? An average of 2 less HP per level, and only having 3/4 of the attack bonus a fighter would normally have, but they get nearly twice the number of feats, plus they aren't restricted to feats that are designated for [Fighter] only.
