OK, i don't know if i am the only one(in fact i am sure of the contrary ) i love the old ADD and 1st ed Greyhawk books. Because of their errors, their awful pictures, they really have a king of magic in their page.
And I like to speak about them, so i will try a little quizz (quite easy for some of you), feel free to answer AND to add some other strange and funny questions and remarks.
Ok lets go:
1)What was Boccob (the GOD) stat particularity in the old greyhawk boxed set?
2)What was Grazz't physical particularity ( ok he is nasty, but...)?
3)Tell me about the whole family of Iuz?
4)Who were in the ring of Five?
5)What was suppressed in the FIRST deities and demi gods book?
why?
6)WHere is the Island of Woe?
7)Who played robilar (easy)? what was his first alignement? who is Qij?
8)Who is Ygorl?
9) What did TSR mean?
10) How much would have you paid to forbid the movie "Dungeon and Dragon" to be distributed? or how many wishes would have you cast?
Thanks

1) Don't know
2) He was Black as pitch, but other wise a handsome man. And had six fingers on each hand.
3) Grazz't Daddy, Igwilv Mommy.
4) Zagig's old adventuring group.
5) Cuthulu Dieties and Fathrd and Mouser Dieties.
6) Deep under the Nyrdyv
7) Rob ? , LE QUij was his half orc Henchman who ruined his carpet of flying turning it into a poncho.
8) CE leader of the Slaadi?
9) Tatical and Stratigic Review.
10) Ugh! I doubt that any amount of money could erase a mistake like that.

I thought TSR was an acronym, for Tactical Studies Rules.

You know, I never saw Dungeons & Dragons: The Movie. It looks like that is a good thing...

Well, with less than half of it's budget (35$ million) a decent film maker could have done a terrific fantasy film. Seriously (i'm not kidding here) one could pick up a single adventure module and it's pregenerated characters, write some dialogue and end up with a more convincing/interesting plot.

And more importantly. Here we have a Jeremy Irons as bad guy, completely uncharismatic and overacting so badly you have to scared if he chews his way through your tv screen.

I think it was Roger Ebert who said: Obviously the makers picked up a D&D box, looked at the cover picture, decided they had enough material for the film and throw the box away.

On a positive note, watching it in a good company of fellow roleplayers in a relaxed enviroment is one the best MST3K experiences one can have.

As for other questions. Isle of Woe is in Nyr Dyv. I think it has resurfaced recently in Living Greyhawk. Other questions, I don't know the answers.

I also recommend everyone to get their hands on 'Mazes and Monsters' which warns about the dangers of D&D. See Tom Hanks in his best role:D

ABout answers: not bad but some are missing/incomplete:
the 1)?
the 2) is ok, always 6 fingers
3) somebody is missing (if i remember well wow!!!! if i make a mistake..)
4)Yes, but who is in this group?
5) not only those pantheon have been supressed...
6) correct (first appearance in DMG, about a relic, The codex of inifinite plane, no?)
7) Rob... you must know him, and alignement?.. all right for Qij.
8)That's it, from the fiend folio. He is mounted on a big beast, i don't remember, maybe a dragon no?
9)Yes!
10) really a terrible movie for 8 and under... The temple of elemental evil, beginning with a group of player around a table and fading in the storie (ok , not all teh FIGHTS!! but the intrigue) would have been so GREAT... BUt has you wrote, any other scenarii would have been better... I heard a sequel is planned?

1)What were Boccob's in the 83' Greyhawk boxed set?

Shrug (i'm not near my gaming materials)

2)What is Grazz't's physical particularity?

A pointed tail

3)Tell me about the whole family of Iuz?

Iggwilv forced Grazz't into a form of servitude and took his seed, thus Iuz was born.

4)Who were the original Ring of Five?

a. Zagyg
b. Vale of the Mage (I'm uncertain of the name atm)
c. Evard
d. Muryland
e. Nystul

(I believe that's correct, exhaps perhaps Nystul)

5)What content was suppressed in the FIRST Deities & Demigods? Why?

As answered above in addition to Indian pantheons

6)Where is the Island of Woe?

As answered above

7)Who played Robilar? what was his first alignment? who is Qij?

As answered above in addition to Rob Kuntz

8)Who is Ygorl?

As answered above

9) What did TSR mean?

I concur with Greyson's answer, Tactical Studies & Rules

10) How much would you have paid to prohibit the "Dungeons & Dragons" movie from being distributed? How many wishes would have you cast?

I'd have thrown in $10 on it!

Unfortuantely I'm a fighter, so I can't cast wishes.

As childrens movie it works I think. Sure, make a sequel. Just place it in existing game setting, dump the director, cast (well, we can keep the dwarf cause he was least annoying), ESPECIALLY dump the writers and about anyone involved with the first part and don't name it D&D II.

Additional comments:

3)Also Delzna, Iuz's vampire (half?) sister, and you might even include Zuggtmoy, Iuz's love interest in the novels.

4) Vale of the Mage: Jason or Jaran Krimeeah (sp?)

5)Also the Melibinorean (Elric) Pantheon

10) I'd rather that they set it in the FR, so that forevermore the movie would be associated with the FR, and WotC would have to cancel the FR line.

LOL for 10) , you are right, It would have been a great idea...
For the rest everything is ok, Delzna appear in the lost cavern of Tsojcanth, for the ring of five i am nearly sure leomund belong to it, and maybe serten.
Yes for the Morcook Pantheon!, Because of stormbringer (the RPg ) and CoC, those pantheon have been suppressed. Everything is ok, if someone remember the mount of Ygorl..
But nobody told me about boccob stat( a palyndrom again, but i won't speak about all the greyhawk anagram cause i am sure you all know them)
If you have other question of this kind, go on, i like nostalgia. (and to make my brain working!)

5) for some reason they also cut the Finnish mythos from the Legends & Lore hardback

8) see above about the Slaadi.

9) also was commonly misquoted as They Sue Regularly. but Tactical Studies Rules is correct.

TSR in TSR, Inc. actually didn't stand for anything.
Before that company was formed there was Tactical Studies Rules, but when the company was created they were just initials and didn't stand for anything.
There was a huge trivia contest in Dragon way back in the days of yore, and that was one of the questions.
