#1zombiegleemaxFeb 27, 2004 14:18:05 | I know the whole thing is supposed to be hush hush, but inquiring minds want to know. Is it a go? Is it even out of the hanger? On the tarmac? Still on the drawing board? So far, what can you tell us? |
#2zombiegleemaxFeb 27, 2004 15:01:13 | I have no idea what you are talking about. [PSmedger dispatches a squad of assassins and remembers to remind Iquander that the chats have ears...] |
#3rumblebellyFeb 27, 2004 15:13:30 | Speaking of secret projects, would this perhaps have anything to do with getting the Codex of Greyhawk back online somewhere? What a great resource and it's gone, gone, gone! Sigh.... |
#4zombiegleemaxFeb 27, 2004 16:11:57 | Actually the codex isn't actually gone. It's in the hands of Canonfire, but the only way anyone will ever see it again is if one of us already very busy Canonfire affiliated, minions and slaves of the Greyhawk fandom, put mega-hours to re-publish that huge vault of information that was once known as the codex. Don't look at me, I'm already swamped. |
#5zombiegleemaxFeb 27, 2004 16:15:24 | Okay I'm new here so I don't want to sound like a complete mendicant worthy of a trip to Nogard but PSmedger has to be Pluffet Smedger the historian and cartographer, right? So who's Gary? If you guys say Gygax I'll drop dead right here. Valkaun |

#7zombiegleemaxFeb 27, 2004 17:01:57 | Actually, Gygax and Kuntz are writing for a later release of Dungeon as we speak. |
#8zombiegleemaxFeb 27, 2004 19:32:21 | (casts Charm Person on Gary) C'mon, Smedger, you can trust us. We won't tell a soul....;) |

#10erik_monaMar 01, 2004 18:09:44 | I honestly don't know what "secret project" this thread is talking about. I've got a handful of exciting Greyhawk-related projects upcoming in future issues of Dungeon Magazine (the "biggest" currently being a revision of Mordenkainen's Fantastic Adventure for issue #112 to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of D&D). But outside the magazine, I'm not currently working on anything Greyhawk related. Aside, of course, for the second half of a "Greyhawk Feats" article that will appear in Dragon #319. But that hardly qualifies as a "secret project." A lot of people have been clamoring for a compilation of Living Greyhawk Journal articles, and while I think such a thing is a great idea and would wholeheartedly support it, it's not going to happen inside 2004. --Erik Mona Editor-in-Chief Dungeon Magazine |
#11zombiegleemaxMar 01, 2004 18:45:01 | *sticking neck out* What was the codex of Greyhawk? I assume it was a repository of information for things Greyhawk. It used to show up on my Google searches when I first started looking for GH online, but it would be devoid of content. Now it looks like an ad site. I wish I had some spare time to help out with Greyhawk, Canonfire, etc. I love the setting and hope it continues receiving the support it has from Dungeon magazine. I'm running our party through "Headless" right now from Dungeon 89. I converted it to 3.5 and, though tricky in the revised edition, it is a lot of fun. I hope to run the "Harrowing" from Dungeon 84, as well. |
#12grodogMar 02, 2004 1:47:29 | Originally posted by Zudrak The Codex was a Canonfire-like repository of GH lore, maintained by a trio of GH fans. Gary Holian was given the content some time ago, just before the site went offline, and will eventually get it posted to CF!

Good stuff! Thanks, grodog. I will be looking forward to seeing it. I visited your link as well as the link in your posting signature. I put them in my Favorites. I'll keep my eyes peeled for the eventual posting of the Codex info on Canonfire. |

You could also drop by the Thursday chat sometime and ask Gary in person about the Codex's status, as well as hang out with other GH goobers :D |

One question: Is that chat here on Wizards? I won't make it this week, but maybe next week I can make it. |
#16cwslyclghMar 03, 2004 18:41:49 | no the chat isn't on wizards, but they anounce it here on this board every week along with a link to use to get to it. |
#17zombiegleemaxMar 08, 2004 20:24:21 | Oh my... secret project, indeed. Could it be that the LGJ compilation is just a pipe-dream that went up in smoke? Hey, that reminds me of something.... Bye!!! |
#18zombiegleemaxMar 10, 2004 15:46:07 | Secret or no, where the heck is it? |
