Starting with me feeling sick over the weekend, then when I felt better, I got into a car accident which totaled my car (I'm o.k., there was no injuries, but I got slammed into on the passenger-side of my car by a full-sized pickup going around 50 MPH while I was making a left turn). And then this morning I get a call from my Mom that my Dad died of a heart attack last night, so now I'm off to California. Why does everything like to build up and hit all at once?

Anyways, I appreciate the sympathies from everyone, I'll be.... less frequent on this board for a while, but still will probably check my own boards when I am in California (forums.darkhelm.net), as well as my e-mail address (chill@darkhelm.net). I've got a lot of things to do now, and really have no idea how it's all going to work out.

Damn!

This feels like Deja Vu.

Sorry about all that's going on right now. I had a similar thing happen to me around August of last year, one of the reasons I took a hiatus.

I got into a wreck that totaled my car on a Saturday, the following Tuesday my apartment building caught on fire. I didn't get hurt or anything, and didn't lose anything in the fire. Though, when I moved in with some friends I did leave alot of things there (including a king sized waterbed that I am missing right about now) and pretty much just hit the reset button on life.

Now I'm about to move into my own apartment again, this time in the Carmel district and I've had a new car, well newer to me anyways (01 Honda Civic), since late August/early September. Things seem to be getting better for me. Now if I can just get totally over the breakup.

Anyways, enough of the little fiddle playing for myself. Hope everything works out in the end and sorry about your Dad. I'll start frequenting your message boards more often just to help keep your mind occupied.

Sorry about your Dad, hope to see you back soon, but life is always more important than our little fantasy discussions here.

I never knew what to say in those sad moment especially when others already said it but I would like you to know that althought we cant realy call ourselves true friends, we do have some sort of a relationship in this forums and when someone like you is going through a difficult time, well, it touches us. (I can surely speak from all of us when I say so)

Not because of what you bring us to the DS community but because you are, like all of us, a human being with emotions and all, we are with you in our own way. Comme back to us whole thus take all the time you need: w'll be here.

With all due respect, Pennarin, I doubt your imagination is that powerful - and if it is, you have my sympathies.

Well, I've updated what's currently going on in my life on my own forums. I appreciate all the sympathy here on these forums. we had the funeral on Sunday, which I was truely impressed and surprised by the sheer number of people who showed up there - my father had touched many people's lives. He always thought about others, almost never himself (to the point of not going to the doctor's, as apparently he had umm chronic (sic) heart disease and either didn't know, or didn't tell us about it, which is what killed him). We're in the middle of picking up the pieces, figuring out what needs to be done, and getting everything straightened out. It's not easy, and is hard to imagine what life will be like without him here with us. Thanks again for the concern.
