I just got a whole new way for me to be psyched about KoD. It says its an adventure that spans the continent of Ansalon. What has me excited is the possibilities of answered questions about a lot of the sites in Ansalon, both old and espesially new.....like Nalis Aren for example....I really look forward to the possibility that two of my player's characters (both elves, Qualinesti and Kagonesti) may be forced to deal with what I equate to Dragonlance's answer to the Dead Marshes of Tolkien. Anyhow...Is there anything like this that anyone else is all worked up about in the new campaign series?

*laughs!* Well, I can't say too much without giving stuff away, but suffice to say, from the cover of the first adventure, you can pretty much figure which way things are heading from Pashin.... ;)

As for future adventures, I will reveal enough to say that I am almost purposefully exploring areas that have either never really been mentioned all that much in previous material, or going into much more depth (given the current state of affairs).

I'm also trying to avoid areas where current novelists are writing, so as to avoid any possible conflict between the story that's unfolding in KoD and with the stories they have planned!

Take from that what you will for now, but trust me when I say it's gonna be a long, bumpy ride ;)

Since Nalis Aren is to feature in a new Dhamon Grinwulf novel out this autumn (known as Lake of Death), it seems unlikely that that lake, or Qualinesti in general, would appear in the campaign until well after the novel is published. In any case, if Dhamon manages to expel all the goblins and Dark Knights from the forest, there would not be much point in going there.

The novel is further discussed on http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=192915

I am pretty thick, so my imagination is still spinning about what will happen to Pashin. ;)

I am actually quite pleased that you are taking the module to places that other authors have only briefly mentioned. I mean, the module is not just an adventure, it is an expansion on the post-war Ansalon.

Good Job.

Maybe maybe not....just because Damon goes there doesnt mean the characters in the adventure wont cross through the area. Heck...the characters in the adventure may even have some sort of effect on the area which Damon will see firsthand when he goes there.

What I am pointing out is that Mr. Coyle says that he does not want to involve in his campaign areas which come into future novels, to avoid coming into conflict with those novels.
