Utilizing a map such as the "589 CY Darlene Compatible Map" posted at canonfire.com by Farcluun, in what hex would you place a locale "20 leagues from the mainland of Hepmonaland's easternmost extremes" (per GA)? Keep it on the map, or follow Hepmonaland's outline in the less defined illustrations which detail more of Oerth's geography?

What elements would you place in an aquatic GH campaign set in the Oljatt Sea?

You are free to place it wherever you wish. However, I think 20 leagues would probably be off the map for the "Darlene map" so you would have to use one of the less defined (ie "hexless") maps unless you want it closer than 20 leagues.

As far as what elements to place, take your pick. Even though it is a tropical ocean, you can place any monster you want and just say it is a subspecies/ tropical ocean variety.

If you want something specific, how about the following:

An undersea sahuagin lair.
A merfolk encampment
A kraken
A tropical island with a haunted pirate castle
The ruins of a sunken human city destroyed by a regional water god/goddess
An undersea anomoly containing a vast bubble of airy water that supports surface life- make it like a "lost world" kind of thing long hidden under the waves.

well in the darlene map (and Abysslins update) the scale is 1 hex equals 10 leagues (30 miles), so it would be two hexes out from the coast. however the easter-most extreem of Hepmonaland is located on a section of coastline between the Avali swamp and the Akailo swamp far to the south of where the Darlene map reaches (looking at the map of hepmonaland in The Scarlet Brotherhood).
