A few sources seem to mention that the elves ancestral lands is not Silvanesti. What would become Silvanesti was a land first ruled by Chromatic Dragons, and the elves original homeland was left behind so they could make a new homeland that would become Silvanesti.

Assuming is wasn't destroyed by the First Cataclysm, were was the original home located?

Well, this story plus others leads me to believe that life started on taladas and migrated to ansalon.

For elves specifically, we can look and see the Huldre elves of taladas who are stated as basically being the oldest elves in the world, and assume that the dragonwars must have started on taladas, causing most of the elves to flee to ansalon. This is a lot like the first minotaur migration, the gnomes coming over, etc etc.

The people were called the Colinesti, which were "the people of the morning" before they splintered into their Kagonesti and Silvanesti subraces. The Kagonesti were the followers of Kaganos who preferred the traditional ways, and the Silvanesti followed Silvanos who founded the new elven homeland.

The way I see it, the elves never had a real homeland before Silvanos. Like the humans, they just had their hunting, foraging and scavenging grounds. There were tribes, family groups, and common and related languages, but no place with determined borders.
