Hey everyone!

I've been making an effort to spend at least a few minutes each day on the message boards, so I didn't want anyone to panic or make a mistaken assumption when I disappear for a week.

Sovereign Press (Margaret, Renae, and I) is about to leave for the Game Manufacturer's Association (GAMA) Trade Show in Las Vegas, Nevada. It's the biggest industry-only event of the year, and will be a great chance to meet with our distributors and many game retailers. If we get everyone excited about our 2004 plans it will make it easier to find our products at your local store!

If I do manage to post, it's because I've found internet access and a spare minute. If not, I'll be back in a week! Take care.

UPDATE!

Hey everyone! I'm chiming in from the business center at the Orleans Hotel & Casino. The show hasn't even opened yet, and we've already received great response about our recent announcement of a sales partnership with artist Larry Elmore's company, Elmore Productions. (See GamingReport.com or others news sites for details.)

We've got the booth set up and we're very excited to talk to distributors and hobby game retailers. I'm going to be taking pictures and we may be posting a GAMA Gallery on Dragonlance.com at some point in the future.

Thanks!

UPDATE!

We've made it to the last day of the show, and will be tearing down the booth at 4:00 PM Vegas-time. Response has been overwhelmingly positive from all of the hobby game retailers we've spoken with--as well as our distributors in the U.S. and overseas. We ran out of the AMBER & ASHES covers yesterday, but Margaret has been signing Dragonlance DM Screens. (We've discovered most of the retailers are keeping it for themselves or giving it to a friend, not selling them!) Catalogs galore have been handed out. I was also able to meet with the representatives of our printer for the BESTIARY OF KRYNN, and the process is going well!

A really amusing thing happened yesterday. Margaret was stuffing catalog folders while I was giving a product overview with a game retailer. This gave a few people who were waiting the impression that Margaret was MY employee and just helping me out in the booth. Eventually the man's eyes wandered to her name-badge, and he literally flailed his arms in surprise! His favorite author was right there in front of him stuffing folders. A lot of people did not seem to expect to meet Margaret in the booth, but have been thrilled to shake her hand and get an autograph.

Tonight we're looking forward to dinner with Tracy and Laura Hickman. Apparently we're going to eat "the best Chinese food ever," enjoy the great company, and talk about future projects.

Thanks guys! I'll be back online when I get back to the Midwest.

We've had a lot of "Oh Wow!" and "This book is gorgeous!" kind of responses. Everyone is really pleased at what they're seeing and expect it to fly off of store shelves.

Well, that's heartening to say the least.

Good to hear from you, Jamie. Have a safe trip back!

Cheers,
