The Heroes of Hope boxed set mentions Khur Seers. Are there any plans to introduce these in the Age of Mortals Triliogy? I have a Khurish character who is interested in going this route but I didn't know if they were going to to be mystics, sorcerers, or a prestige class.

I think he means Key of Destiny, Specter of Sorrows, and Price of Courage. They don't technically have an overreaching series title, but they are referred to as "Age of Mortals Campaign", or something to that effect.

Yes, this is what I meant. I have a tendency to refer to anything coming in threes as a trilogy even though it could lead to confusion with the novels.

I was just really suprised at looking back at Heroes of Hope and realizing that they really weren't saying what they were. I could infer that they were mystics since that boxed set is about mysticism, but the reference to them was more of a sideline rather than a example role.

In the adventure trilogy, I hadn't really gone into too much detail on prestige classes, as that's more something for regional/racial sourcebooks that Players maybe interested in, whereas usually it's only DMs that purchase the adventures.

However, I might just go ahead and write something up on the Seers as I did really like them when I was writing KoD and I get a kick out of going into depth on sideline things like that.

*ponders* Lemme think it over a little bit & get back to you...

The Seers are also mention on page 108 of the Age of Mortals under the write-up of Delphon. It describes the Tower of the Eye in Delphon. I always thought of them as Clerics of Zivilyn and/or mystics.

I am not necessarily looking to have a prestige class or anything made out of it. I was mostly wondering if they were divine or arcane spell casters.

Like Kipper, I assumed that they were divine such as a cleric of Zivilyn.

I'm fairly certain they are divine. The Khur are not big on wizardry or sorcery, but they do believe in the gods (or their version of them anyway). How they would know a mystic fom a sorcerer I don't know but since they were around before the advent of sorcery and I doubt very much they were wizards I would make them clerics. During the Age of mortals it is possible that some would be mystics, but they might attribute their abilities as a blessing from the gods.

The Khur have a very different way of looking at the gods than some of the other regions on Krynn. It didn't really phase them too much when the gods left after the "Drowning", as they remained a fairly spiritual people (just without divine spellcasters). Again in the years following the Chaos War, the Khur people were not particularly bothered by the departure of the gods, considering it yet another trial to weather and suchlike.

There's some hint that the seers inherited their gifts, that it's something one is born to. Whether this just means that their version of Zivilyn blesses them and that this same propensity made them good candidates for becoming mystics in the Age of Mortals is unclear. Mysticism doesn't cover divination, however - peeking into the River of Time was something sorcery handled in the Age of Mortals. Of course, with the subtle shifts in how mystics and sorcerers work under 3rd edition rules this distinction no longer necessarily holds any water.

Cheers,
Cam
