Im am about to start in a new game in Sigil. Its not gonna be large adventure, and we will start as high level.

But I dont know what to play.

What is the typical Sigil character or do you have a great idea for a character??

'My suggestion depends how tipical the campaing is and your familiarity with planescape

See
Sigil is the Most visited town in all planes becouse of it's unique condition
You can play with wathever you want if its a broad campaing
If is a tipicaly sigilian campaing you can play with a Cutthoat Tiefling Thief, a Harmonium Dwarf Enforcer, an Elven Mage of The Society of Sensation, a Human Beggar who lives from garbage
Infinite possibilities even in a tipical characters

but if you have no Planescape familiarity I suggest the Berk Without a Name archetype. A person who don't know nothing about your past for some reason (and Planescape Setting this is relatively common becouse of the River Styx, Nigth Hags, and Greek Gods...). A feast for the DM and a good excuse for not worring about the history of the character

Remember that the Faction is a Inportant choice for the caracter
You Shoud read the descriptions of the Factions to see examples of tipical Planescape characters

I know alot of the planes, and have played planescape before.

But I need a good character idea, the level is 15 so I have alot to play with. Have thought of a Collecter, but hes maybe to high level for that!!

A collecter as in the berks who shove deaders around on rickety carts in the Hive and Lower Wards? Gruesome.

How about a student of Lazz's Schol of Unpleasant Vividness? Make him a tortured artist type witha penchant for arson... That's actually one of my friends PC from my "Play your alter ego campaign!" But coming up with a Cager isn't too difficult.

You can be a Githyanki or Githzerai who fled home becouse his Hi-level
you can be a Collector King like Pharod in PS: Torment
or a High Up in a Faction
the system of the campaing coud make u have different choices
If is a AD&D I suggest a githzerai Psionic/Figther with the background I told...
In 3E I could recomend you to look the Planar Prestige Classes
The Planar Champion is a good Hi-Level character

When I think of a "typical" Sigilite, two stereotypes come to mind immediately.

Knight of the Post - the swindlers, cheaters, liars, etc. Lots and lots of them in the Cage

Touts - guides and folk who generally help you find your way around the place (yay redundancy). Also sometimes Knights of the post.

Might give you something to think on.

"And now Rowan Darkwood is here at the boards? Argenachs, I want you to monitor his every movement. That man is a menace to the Balance!"
