Anybody interested in sharing some of their favourite taverns, etc., that you've used in your campaigns?

One of mine is the Tavern of the Three Rings. It's found in Threshold and is operated by a Traladarian named Sopot. An ex-adventurer who meet and befriended some Darine. The name of the tavern is from the gold three-ringed ear-ring that was given to him by one of the Darine.

Sopot himself is an upbeat man with a love of story and song, and is happy to provide free services for someone willing to share either. He has long dark hair, starting to bald on top, and wears the bright, loose-fitting clothes of the Darine. The food is good (not great) and normally only the more traditional Traladaran dishes are served. Don't expect alot of information from here; most are older men who tell tall tales in hope of conning Sopot into free food (the regulars try constantly to little success).

I hope to read of more to put into my game. Bottoms up!

My favourite tavern is from long long ago. Its name was "The Talking Whisker". It was located in Thyatis City, and managed by Qenju and Jaalaeia - two Rakasta ex-slaves. They were held captive by some Thyatian Senator, but eventualy managed to buy their freedom.
Since they were the only Rakastas in Thyatis, they were somewhat of a celebrity. Their tavern was ultra-trendy, serving exotic Rakasta food (IMC at the time, Rakasta culture had a strong Persian flavour - and so was their food). You needed to book places there in advance etc. etc. The whole upper class of Thyatis went there.

I ran that campaign years ago, when I still did not have DotE - and my only source about Rakasta was the Creature Catalogue, so I guess some info here needs to be modified...

I like the idea of Persian Rakastas...

You don't need to rework the Persian Rakasta idea. They could be from Davania and had been traveling when they were caught by Thyatian soldiers near the Hinterlands, and enslaved. Maybe from the Izonda Desert.

I really like that idea, using tjedge1's background as for how they get there. This would make for a very memorable moment for the PCs to walk into this upscale tavern and be turned away, and before leaving, noticing a Rakasta running the place. Cool stuff, thanks!

This board is so much fun. Something of your own imagination suddnely becomes reality in someone else's campaign (or just *his* imagination...)
