Dragon # 265 (Nov. 1999) had an article on Rudd and Raxivort (god of Xvarts) called The Oeridian Lesser Gods III. I got all of the information for the article from an earlier article by Gary Gygax in an old Dragon (50's or 60's) and from The Sentinal, which details the Duchy of Berghof and a Xvart lair.

Hope that helped.

Living Greyhawk Journal #1 has a 3E write-up on xvarts, if you can get a hold of a copy.

For those who missed the article in LGJ (written by Sean Reynolds), the second article Abysslin linked to (written by me, btw), should be a worthy substitute, since the statistics given for the critters are taken from that article and only given minor modifications that I felt made them more true to the "greyhawk" xvart. Unfortunately, 2e and 3e, and the Baldur's Gate series of CRPGs turned xvarts into nothing more than mindless humanoid fodder, but I think if you take a look at my article, you'll see that they can be a lot more interesting.

Here's a couple other related articles I've written for Canonfire:

Sisterhood of the Rat's Claw: A cult in Cryllor's undercity led by a unqiue Xvart Druid

Raxivort: Lord of the Rats (and Xvarts!)

Lore of the Amedio 1: Peoples of the Great Southern Jungle (Includes Xvarts and their cousins, the Slitheren, or Ratmen)

Yeah Chatdemon is an expert on rats and xvarts. Rumor has it he's half-xvart himself. If chatdemon was from NewYork he would of been a grand master of rat knowledge they ride the subway over their and mug you for the crumbs in your pockets.

Follow the links to chatdemons article on canonfire posted above. It's the most information you'll ever find on the race, even the author who created them doesn't have that much info on them.
