Are all abilites generated from 5 to 20 in 3.5e dark sun, as in 2e?

If so, I think I'll use the 4d6, keep highest three, and then add +2.

Yeah, I know there is a faq... but I guess I'm just obstinate...

... I'm still having my players roll 4d4+4 for their characters. I'm not a rules stickler though, so I'll just throw in some really tough illegal monsters..

Bosch the Fighter: "I throw my steel tipped Javelin at the beast!"

DM: Yeah... he's immune to non-magical weapons.

Bosch: What the heck are you talking about, its a flippin' Gith, ain't it?

DM: Its a magic gith.

Bosch: There ain't no such thing.

DM: ...

Bosch: Well? Did my javelin hurt it or not?

DM: The gith uses his 10' reach to touch you. Take 1d4 negative levels in damage.

Now I just need to decide if I'm gonna add in Wild Talents for everyone, or not... I'd of course just use the feat...

Love the breaking all the rules examples:

Now I of course realize that you know that there is no such thing as immunity to any type of weapon in 3.5. DR is the method used, which has certain types of weapons bypass the damage reduction but any blow of sufficient effect can do damage.

Also the rule we used from the revised set had using 5d4 (actually 6d4 disregard thelowest one) not 4d4+4 for ability scores. 4d4+4 yields a net higher number.

Actually, in 3.0 there wasn't immunity to damage either, only DR. I guess you could devolve into a mix-mash of 2e and 3e, but that just gets confusing and can potentially throw the entire system out of whack, since the values of things in 3e don't mean the same thing as they did in 2e - and using them like that either makes for super-powerful characters, or super-dead characters, more often than not.

And a nice stance to take, if you don't mind me saying.
