Ok, I'm aware that there is no such thing as psionics on Krynn (and I'm really glad about this) and there are no MindFlayers (at least not in Ansalon).
But I was wondering about my favourite antagonists: the YuanTi
They r also psionic, they kick ass, they would really be a threat to the world...but do they actually exist?
And by the way, what about the Githyanki and the Githzerai (since there whole existence is pretty much tight to the ancient Illithid empire) and speaking of Githzerai, what about Slaadi? They r born in a plane of Chaos, but as far as I know, there is no such plane in DL...hm...forget about the last, since they could be children of Chaos itself (forgot about the Graygem for a short moment, my fault).
But what's your opinion on the other 3 species?

What? Since when have yuan-ti been psionic? *wanders off to check MM*

Oh yeah.

Anyway, if you really wanted yuan-ti in the setting, you could either change their psionics to similar spell-like abilities, or drop that part altogether. And call them something different, 'yuan-ti' was always the part I liked least about yuan-ti.

Githyanki and githzerai are pretty much out, because of the link to mind flayers and planar travel, which isn't a strong part of the setting. I would be tempted to leave slaadi in, if only because in Dark Sun: Shattered Lands, they shared the same model (just used different colours) as sligs, which *are* in, even if I've not seen any stats. Apart from 2nd ed Dark Sun ones.

Still, it's your game, so do what you want with it.

And I think if I hear anyone (even me) say that one more time to someone asking something about Krynn, I'll stab them in the face with something large and pointy. Can we just have it as a sticky thread at the top of the board saying 'NOTE: People are posting their thoughts, do what you want with your campaign'?

I fully understand your point. There has been way too much talk about what monsters/races r in Krynn and which are not.
The main reason for me asking for the YuanTi (I hate that stupid name especially since ten different people pronounce it ten different ways) was, since I planned on including them in my campaign as a main element and was just wondering, why so many people here talk about the Dragonspawn as a proper replacement for it. Why is that? As far as I'm concerned, Dragonspawn seem to be more of a powerful replacement for HalfDragons, not some scheming evil snakefolk with a hatred for all minor (other) races.

There is no official stance in the 3rd edition Dragonlance game as to the existence of psionics, so it's entirely up to individual DMs.

Yuan-ti, Githzerai, and Githyanki are not listed as being inappropriate to Dragonlance, so technically you can use them and still be in accord with the official stance. Someone else posted that the gith-races could be tied to Krynn via the shadowpeople, as those folk have psionic-type abilities.

Slaad exist on Krynn, officially. See the Dragonlance DM Screen for more info. on this.
