What's the difference between Greyhawk Dragons and Steel Dragons (from FR)? I mean, obviously Greyhawk dragons are waaaay cooler because, you know, they're from Oerth. But is there a difference in stats or game mechanics?

Also, where is a good source to find information on Greyhawk dragons?

Thanks.

EDIT:Actually, nevermind about the stat information. I just found all I need on the DnD homepage. Guess I should look before I ask, eh? ;)

get the 1e/2e book Greyhawk Adventures ... and i believe the dragons were almost identical ... or were and it was just a fluff and name change

Thanks, wolf72. I'll have to see if I can get my hands on that book.

I would say that it seems odd to me that Greyhawk dragons hadn't been given any attention -- fluffy or crunchy -- since 2e, but then Wizards just fixed that with the new article.

Does Greyhawk Adventures have a list of named Greyhawk dragons? That's something I'd still like to find: who the dragons are, where they live, and what they are doing.

Oerth Journal #8 has a really good write up on a Greyhawk dragon living in the city of Dyvers (although the dragon considers himself a Dyvers Dragon rather than a Greyhawk dragon), but the OJ isn't "official."

there is no difference at all... Steel Dragons are the name that they gave to "Greyhawk" dragons when they genericized them for the 2e MM. if you look at the Greyhawk appendics of the Monstrous Compendium (Early 2e) you will find that the greyhawk dragon entry is exactly the same as the Steel dragon entry in the 2e Monstrous Manual (Mid 2e) with the exception that the word Greyhawk has ben changed to "Steel".

Here's a link to the article WightNight was talking about.

Wouldn't it be nice if all of our Greyhawk questions could be answered by a fresh new article on the Wizards website?

Scarlet Brotherhood supplement tells that there is a colony of 9 mist dragons on islands couple of hundred kilometres east of Amedio jungle.

It named several of them (maybe all) but I don't have the supplement with me just now. I'm sure someone else can help on this matter.

For those who missed it, here's a link to a similar topic (Greyhawk/Steel Dragons in 3e/3.5e) on the Canonfire forum:
