Well, I said I'd write a Planescape story, and here it begins! Enjoy! ;)
.........................................................................................................

Prologue:

The Endless silver void that was the Astral Plane stretched onward for an infinity, broken only by occasion bits of civilization or dubris.

To the being surveying this landscape, both could not exist at all for all he cared. He only had one care now, looking after the sad remains of what once were deities..

His name was Anubis, and he sat on his throne which endlessly floated motionlessly in the void that was the Astral Graveyard of the Gods.

Suddenly, this monotonie was shattered, when a Hawk-Headed being arrived, with two smaller winged beings of radiant beuity and light.

The Guardian spoke to this newcomer, for he was, and still is a close colleage of the Guardian.

"Ah, Horus. To what pleasure do I own this visit?" The Guardian said

"Anubis, Ra has sent me to investigate the source of a disturbance on the Astral Plane who detected, so I'm sorry If I cannot engage in idle chatter my old friend." Horus responded

The radiant light around Horus seemed to change a bit as Horus spoke those last few words. Regret perhaps, or maybe....fear?

"I have not sensed anything" Anubis said, his eyes reflecting inward in thought

"It is not something you would have sensed, even Ra was not sure what it was exactly, as he hardly picked it up." Horus said

"What could be so urgent that Ra would have you come here in physical form, and not just Avatar form Horus? And you have two Solars with you?!" Anubis said alarmingly, his eyes gazing over the landscape of dead god isles floating endlessly around them.

"I shall show you what little Ra showed me." Horus said, then placed a hand on Anubis' black canine head.

Anubis' eyes immediately began to move rapidly, as his mind took in the myriad of images Horus was showing him.

After what seemed like an eternity, and could have been one, since Time has no meaning on the Astral Plane, Anubis' head rose, alarm evident in his eyes.

"We must act with all haste, or the entire Multiverse as we know it will cease to exist" Horus said

Anubis nodded, then, after one last look at his charges, rose from his thrown, his divinity returning to him as he did so.

Meanwhile....Nearby, unknownst to both Gods and their Solar servants.....Another was watching these events. Before the two Gods that were Anubis and Horus turned to gaze upon it, the creature's amoeba-like form quickly planeshifted, its purpose unknown.
