War Mage PrC Query

Hey, you guessed it - I'm going through all the PrCs in AoM with a fine toothcomb!!

The final wording of the War Mage PrC reads:
"Wizards of High Sorcery and Knights of the Thorn may freely multi-class with the war mage prestige class without penalty?"

Its late here, and I'm pretty tired, but I don't seem to see anything in the descriptions of the WoHS and KotT PrC descriptions in the DLCS to say they can't multiclass freely with any PrC, or if they do, what the penalty is (I am presuming an XP penalty is what we're talking about here).

Unless it means that if they take any other PrC, they get kicked out of the order (i.e. killed on sight)?

Help?

Thanks

Simon Collins

PS This is the last PrC query - honest.

Yes, this means nobody's going to be offended among either the Orders or the Gray Robes if the character chooses to take levels in war mage. If a multiclass restriction did exist for those two prestige classes, this class wouldn't count under that restriction.

Cheers,
Cam

But, as far as I can see, there are no multiclass restrictions for these PrCs. Or did I miss something?

When designing the War Mage, the DLCS was in the editing stages. We weren't certain if there would be any restrictions on multiclassing with those classes or not, so that line was placed in there just in case.

As it turns out, there was no need for it. Feel free to ignore it.

My advice: play one. They're insanely fun because you're very powerful.
