Are you being a WoHS? If so that would probably be a good PrC if you want someo of the abilties from that. The War Mage is good if you want to be good at dealing damage and protecting.
Take Spell Focus in evoaction and what ever school has the spells that you want to buff with.

Put the 18's in Int. and either Dex or Con the others you can do whatever you like with.

Unless you want to dig a hole in it, I believe the word you are looking for is borrow. Sorry, that one just made me laugh a little when I read it. But, since your first language may not be english, I will let this one slide .

I would go straight for something like

w5/WoHS6/Archmage5

and choose your feats and skills around a really decent character background. Something like a LE elf seeking revenge on the minotaurs (just cause you are a black robe doesn't mean you got to wear the robes and the black... if that would cause problems in the party) just wear the red robes and keep the EVIL bit out of sight of the other characters. Could be great roleplaying experience for you all.

The archmage prestige class is described in the 3.5 Dungeon Masters Guide. It's a great class for high-level Wizards of High Sorcery.

If you want the little abilities from the WoHS, then yeah, go that. If you want to be able to deal out massive amounts of death, build the War Mage into the character, your progression, for maximum power, should be:

Wizard 5/WoHS 1/War Mage 5/WoHS 2/Archmage 5/WoHS 2

It's a fairly feat heavy build, but very doable.
