So, it seems fairly sure that bald Mordenkainen is going to make it into the Giants of Legend mini set. Will we see any other famed Greyhawk characters? I sure hope so... What do you think our chances are, guys and gals?

They seem to be showcasing monsters and characters in current game books and novels. Since there are no Greyhawk books being published, Greyhawk miniatures seem unlikely. Where did you hear about a Mordenkainen fig?

The artwork on the boxes shows a figure resembling the Mordenkainen artwork from the Epic book, complete with distinctive staff.

Sadly, I agree with you. I don't expect Wizards to do many Greyhawk minis. Of course, it would be great if I was wrong! Minis of the Circle of Eight, Iuz, Eclavdra, et al. would be excellent.

And also the 30th anniversary is coming up, and GoL is to coincide with this, therefore they would have reasons to use characters from older sources.

Where can I find a bigger picture of that box? The pic on the product listing is really small, I can't tell if it is Mordenkainen or not.
Anyway, I sure hope Greyhawk gets some props in the 30th anniversary.
I know it sounds bizzare, but I'd kinda like to have mini's of spell effects. Like Bigby's hand, Tenser's disk, Evard's Black Tentacles, etc. Useless in the mini game I know, but it'd be cool to have around.

I would say that the cleric of lolth is Eclavdra. That's why I use the drow wizards as lesser clerics. Mordy will be an interesting fig, though. How often he'll actually be playing himself is another matter altogether. Their choice to redo the beholder, dracolich, and cube is a very good sign, too. I imagine those figs will be highly sought after.

Mmmmm. Cube.

Just wanted to update for those who haven't been waiting with baited breath for the new Giants of Legend expansion pack... Looks like Greyhawk is being given its due in the set...

***SPOILERS***

Besides Mordenkainen, we apparently can also look forward to seeing King Snurre from Against the Giants, Lareth the Beautiful from Temple of Elemental Evil, and a Scarlet Brotherhood Monk! The whole set hasn't been announced yet, but I think so far we have much to rejoice about.

Also, its great to see people scratch their heads over who these characters are. People need to know their roots.

I had heard of everything except the monk, which also has a nice ring to it. Good time for Greyhawk, indeed.

I didn't know Lareth the Beautiful was being included, nor did I hear about the Scarlet Brotherhood monk. Just out of curiosity, where did you get your info?

I can guarantee that Mordenkainen is being released however. It's on the ddm main webpage where they have previews listed. A mini of Mordy has been known for quite some time.

He got it from this site http://www.lemonbutter.com/dd/gol_preview.html
and the person at that site got it through hong kong factory extras on e-bay and distributor sources.
