I have bought the Dragonlance campaign setting book and i have never run a dragonlance rpg before. I have only read the first book of the chronicles (Dragons of autumn twilight) and i want to read the rest of the books of caurse.

I want begin my game where the chronicles Starts!! I have the dragonlance campaign setting and i quote from the book"This book strives to give you all the information you need to begin a Dragonlance game set in the age of mortals, after the (war of the souls).
Chapter 9 provides specific information for campaigns set during the war of the lance(age of despair) and after the chaos war (early age of mortals before the war of souls). My question is: In which timeperiode does the Chronicles Start and do i need to buy a new sourcebook to start at that periode and if yes which?????

And my 2nd question are: is there a character like Galadriel (from the lords of the rings) with the same kind of wisdom and a mirror like the one she has, in the world of dragonlance. and if yes, who and where does the charater live??

Well...to answer your first question:

Chronicles is the story of the War of the Lance (more specifically the Heroes of the Lance, ie. the Companions). So, Chronicles takes place in 352 AC, Age of Despair. The Timeline in the DLCS will tell you that...but I would highly suggest not reading the Timeline if you wish to get the most enjoyment out of Chronicles.

The DLCS should have enough information for you to play in the Age of Despair...but it might not if you're wishing to keep world continuity. (since you're just beginning right now) However, you're in luck (if you have patience)...a sourcebook called, The War of the Lance is coming out this summer. It is debuting at GenCon in the last week in July, so it should be in stores around early to mid August. And as the name implies, it is specifically about the Chronicles time period. So that should give you plenty of time to finish Chronicles and maybe even Legends, Second Generation, Dragons of Summer Flame, Dragons of a New Age, and War of Souls (those are the main timeline series). And of course there's a whole slew of other books with filler stories, history, legends, whatever you want.

Anyway, for question 2...off the top of my head, I can't think of anyone Galadriel like. I think the Forestmaster is about as close as you're going to get, officially. But, just because we haven't seen a Galadriel like entity officially in Dragonlance...doesn't mean you can't put one there in your own game. :D

If you want to play through the Chronicles, you need the old modules DL1 - DL14 (?). They contain the adventures that make up the Chronicles. Note that the modules are all AD&D (not 3E) and in need of substantial updating. The War of the Lance book coming this summer does not (to the best of my knowledge) contain the original adventures...
