Okay, I am going to be running an adventure that is around the Gate Town of Bedlam. So, what does the town like, overall? The party will only be passing through, really, so I only really need an overview.

A riot in Bedlam wouldn't surprise me. A bunch of barmy idiots out, what little enforcement there is trying ineffectively trying to stop them.

Sorry, real life intruding onto my game ideas at the moment. Does anyone else who posts here go to Iowa State?

Download A Player's Primer to the Outland's fromRPG.now... it'll have everything you need to run a Bedlam adventure... The Great Modron March also had an adventure set in the town if you want even more maps and description... But here's something I pulled up from the web...

Bedlam. It's said that towns of the Outlands have both beautiful and bad areas, but Bedlam has only bad areas and awful ones. This town has the appearance of a fan laid on the side of Maurash, a volcanic stone hill. The gate: it's at the feet of Maurash, where the city narrows; this ward is called Gate's Mouth and shows how strong is the chaotic influence of Pandemonium.

The inhabitants are saner the further up the hill you go. The true barmies live on the bottom.

They say sanity runs uphill.

At least, they say that in Bedlam, the town where all the madhouses in the world open up so the patients can make a society of their own. Oh, this is no case of letting the inmates run the asylum - the actual rulers live on the hill. And they're sane, sane as death.

So while the good citizens of Bedlam are marching around dressed like clowns for the Day of Tears, the rulers are calmly listening to Beethoven and enjoying DiVinci prints. And while the Voices In Your Head sing their own tune, the rulers play with numbers and astrological charts (everyone has to have a few quirks).
