Hi all,

Everyone has been so helpful and I thank you all.I have another question, what are the series of adventures that lead up to Dragon's Crown? I just want to run those premade adventures as my first attempt at Dark Sun before I run more DS games on my own, thanks.

Most specifically, Arcane Shadows. That sets up some key events of Dragon's Crown. Before that, the adventures aren't strictly necessary to catch all the plot points. AS starts out in Urik.

It basically runs:
  • Freedom!
  • Road to Urik
  • Arcane Shadows
  • Dragon's Crown

Further to what Flip said, and according to the timeline in Beyond the Prism Pentad the adventures in chronological order happen as follows.

Freedom
Road to Urik
Arcane Shadows
Asticlian Gambit
Dragon's Crown

However, some of these adventures kinda diverge on separate plotlines and are not necessary to play Dragon's Crown. You can pick and choose as to which ones you wanna use.

*grumble* I always forget about Aclestian Gambit. ... which is funny, because that's actually the first module I ever owned (was gifted to me, in a time so distant I barely remember it ...)

I ran Freedom and Road to Urikback in the 2E era. Did not like them. I found Freedom way too railroaded, and it ends with the PCs sitting around while they watch the climax of the book. As for Road to Urik, it's all about Battle Systems (the 2E mass combat rules)

That's why I changed mine Generally my PC's always get involved in the gladiatorial games. They found it more fun than slaving away on the ziggurat anyways. So I figured, why not make 1 or 2 of the PC's involved in the final fight against the other gladiatiors? Of course I didn't put them anywhere near Rikus and Neeva! And the Gaj remained on the top of the pyramid of course ;)

Road to Urik was actually pretty good IMO. The roleplaying required to assemble the army is great, and the actual army warfare, in battlesystem is kinda old school. I'm sure if you convert it over to Malhavoc's Cry Havoc though it would be an extremely bloody and long fought out battle.

You can buy the PDFs for about 5USD from SVGames. Direct links to all of the DS products can be found at http://athas.org/products.php

By the way Dragon's Crown a very good adventure as it doesn't need good characters to play through. The problem it pictures affects everybody on Athas, so evil and neutral players/organisations are interested to solve it as well.

Yes, Dragon's Crown is an excellent adventure, despite the fact that I have never played through it yet :P

Although I have noticed a lot of Dark Sun adventures don't usually depend on Good or Evil characters so to speak. Usually, the adventure hooks are along the lines of "to make money" or "to defend your caravan" or "to escape slavery" and such. Basically, self-preservation or even greed. I don't think I have read a single dark sun adventure where the module required a "good" PC in the group.

Yet another feature I like about the dark sun adventures is that they always seem to have multiple ways to tie your PC's into the adventure and keep them there. Some may call this railroading, but personally, I don' t consider it thus unless the DM does a **** poor job of explaining why the PC's cannot leave the caravan, or why they players can't just sneak into the noble's house and kill him in his sleep. Finally, the dark sun adventures are unique. Too many times have I played your typical "We gotta find artifact X to kill demon Y on plane Z or the whole world gets destroyed" Plus I hate drow, orcs, and goblins, so not having them peppered through EVERY SINGLE ADVENTURE definately helps.
