I'm starting a new mixer campaign (myst and planescape) and have included a history of creation and a bunch of minor stuff for the campaign, I just don't think it will be enough to fill out a couple months worth of playing. (more if it takes) So I'm asking for the help of the capable people on this baord. Anyone have any/get any ideas about the settings clashing? I'm figguring on having a group (round 30-100) of D'ni link into Sigil durings it's planewalker.com timeline, and just after ******spoiler warning***** Veovis and the philosopher pestlize the cavern city. So anyone have anything? I'm an open book.

I would rule that the Books simply fail to work inside Sigil. The only way in or out of the city is the Lady's portals. The reason they manage to get in? The Lady made a Book a portal to Sigil, and touching the picture panel the portal key.

As for what they would do, they would probably just settle down and form their own little community in Sigil. That's what most stranded groups of Primes do when they get dumped into Sigil.

yeah about that, I'm going to ignore that rule when it comes to the skill. The worlds created/linked to form pocket bubbles inside the astral and connect from Sigil from there. In physical terms picture a baloon getting stuck by a pin, but the part it gets stuck in has tape over it, keeping the pressure in and not allowing the baloon to pop. A much larger baloon is then tied to the pin and the only way to reach the larger baloon (the newly written age) is to go from Sigil through the book to the age. If course exactly how this can happen without the Lady becoming royally is something of a mystery. Or perhaps not, She may just be biding Her time time until the flaying starts. But the books don't work like portals, and the worlds they link to wouldn't have powers, so it's a judgement call on exactly how much influence The Lady would take in them.

I've only played the first two games, but I think that the easyest way around that problem is to have it so that the Linking books link to a portal in sigil with variable destinations.

I tried to do this on the d20 boards but it fell through. Have you read the books or are you going strictly from the games.
