some questions for my DL campaign

well...my campaign is a bit complex...
Each one of my players play some very minor hero that rule over 60 people...from here everything is open, but i guess each one gonna build himself a settelment.
one turn is about a month so things will move, but some things will delay the time.

so i got some questions...notall of them connected to DL.

1.How much a tree(12 inch width, 14 ft high) will weigh?
I really need this...to know how much wood can a man carry.

2.The elves got some really tough issue...I mean they do not cut wood at all...so my question is it possible for them to make a wagon or something similiar that has a need of wood.
if they can...how?
if they cant...how do they carry things?

3.Qualinsti has a similiar system like the Silvensti?
I mean houses like wood shapers etc.

4.In Silvensti the wood shapers play important rule in society.
They are the main builders of possibly everything.
I did a little research for making NPC for them but I got a few probs.
first of all...they are suppose to be wizards, but wizards spells do not shape the nature.
second...even if they have the spells they gotta be level 5 for casting the spells for shaping wood.
and the biggest problem: even if they got the spell, if they want to shape a whole house they must be atleast at level 10-12 prox.
there is no way that there will be so many 10 level wizards in the silvensti society.

anyway a thogh about a way to solve it...write what you think about it or if you got better way write it too.

A wood shaper will be a very unique wizard with very limted spells which include mostly the "nature shaping" spells (that you will find in the druid spells)
The woodshaper cant learn any other spells.
The woodshaper can prepre a spell in a slot one level lower.
The woodshaper cast the "nature shaping" spells as if he were 3 level higher. if he uses a slot lower (like i mentioned above) he cast the spell as if he were 2 levels higher.

these rules will make a wizard in 6 level a pretty good woodshaper.

Sorry...I think I know the answers to your questions...but I'm not 100% sure (in fact...I'm barely 50% sure of my answers), so I didn't want to comment.

I thought that the Qualinesti had houses like the Silvanesti...but I couldn't find any reference to them in the DLCS. (I may have just been looking in the wrong place)

I'm sure the elves can make wagons and the like. They'd just have to use dead wood. I mean...they have bows and arrows made out of wood...

The weight of wood, you could use this site. It is a British website, so everything's in metric...but you can translate the kg to lbm pretty easily (1 kg = 2.2 lbm = 0.07 slugs). Then, if the wood is wet...I don't know...increase the weight by like 20% or so...maybe more depending on type. (there's probably more info on-line abouts)

Hope this helps.

(edit: Nevermind, I just noticed it gave the conversion of kg/cu.m to lbm/cu.ft on the website )

Actaully, I just googled "Specific Gravity of Wood." There were a few sites (one that gave a rough estimate between dry and wet pine at about 20%...and some other weird ones), but this one seemed the most useful.
