I personally think that WotC are pushing this new DS out so people can buy it then a year later, BAM a newer version! Isn't this how they are always doing it, purposely making a lot of flaws in every book that they make, posting errati on them and so on? Then they come out with another version. I think it's WotC just trying to get more money out of the consumer, it's A WotC DS Conspiracy. LOL

I *highly* doubt it. Ebbron is on plate to be the next D&D world. WotC has made it quite clear that they won't support more than a couple of worlds at once. In fact, if Ebbron takes off, I suspect that FR's days as a printed world are numbered. No, the whole purpose of the "new" Darksun is to sell the new psi book; that's its primary goal.

I doubt that. FR is their big property. Unless there's this huge disinterest in it, they'll keep it around.

Yeah, they won't support DS anytime soon.

I just wish they would sell it if they wont do anything with it!

If I only had the money to buy it...

Wizards feels that the reason that TSR crumbled was because (rightly or wrongly) they went too many directions at once. While Wizards has the backing of a much larger company (Hasbro's frickin' huge, Mr. Bigglesworth), they still don't want to fail the sacred bottom line.

Don't expect to see more than FR and maybe two or three others become "official."

I agree with that 100% Dawnstealer.

I loved a lot of the stuff that T$R did, but they weren't too smart in their business plan. Those boxed sets were great, except that they cost more to produce than what they could sell them for or they couldn't sell enough.

Still, if I won the lottery, we would see a new and improved DS.
