I'm working on converting the flip-book series to d20 and so far I've just been eyeballing the NPCs, setting their class level to something commensurate with the guidelines for CR vs. APL. But I was wondering if there was a more precise or "true" method for converting...

Are there guidelines out there somewhere for converting NPC stat blocks from 2e to 3e?

Thanks...

My votes to just create the characters from scratch. Even in 2e, that's what I did, keeping only the names and (generally) classes. A little more customized to your campaign, then.

Umm yea..... it was a booklet released by WotC back when 3e came out, that was for converting from 2e - 3e. However, I believe someone was converting (or had converted) many of the NPC's from the adventure modules to 3/3.5e. I bet they are on Grummore's list of Dark Sun website links.

I think it was Kamelion.

Yes it is, and it's stocked on Nyt web site.

As someone said, you definitely want to do this from scratch (assuming Kamelion hasn't done it for you).

I've enjoyed writing them from scratch so far, but it's a lot of work. Where's this website with the converted NPCs?

Thanks for the help.

crimsonsun.org. Actually, Grummore's got the list of links on his site for pretty much all of the Dark Sun websites out there...

I got through Freedom with Elonarc's excellent assistance and started on Arcane Shadows next. I got a bit stalled, what with ToA and stuff but this thread makes for a good kick in the complacency - I'll get bizzy with some more and if anyone has any notes then I say let's share - we'll get through them sooner ;)

I was helping by doing Black Spine, maybe I should kick myself and get back to those.

Just send me copies of what you have done so far, I'll look through it. Yes, I am a rules freak.
