I was just passing some time browsing through Ivid the Undying (DAMN that was a good supplement, one of the best TSR ever "produced") and I came across the information on the Walker.

I won't bother to paraphrase or re-post it here, but for those of us who know I ask this:

Has Carl Sargent ever spilled the gruel on his nature and just what the heck he was up to in Medegia with that whole spider-web pattern and stone monolith thing?

If not, then his story may very well need expanding!

I don't think the secrets on him have ever been spilled. My personal favorite is that the Walker is some sort of divine messenger of Fharlanghn... or maybe is actually one of his avatars. He is an Oeridian deity after all... he probably has some interest in what has happened and what will happen in the former lands of the once-Greatest nation of the Oeridian peoples.

According to Carl the Walker was supposed to be creating a web of signals in order to teleport Medegia to the Elemental Plane of Earth and remove the tainted land from the Flanaess.

My guess is the Walker is not only one of Johydee's Children but actually a blood descendent maybe a son or grandson.

Obviously the Medegian lands are the most scarred by war. Considering the fact that Medegia used to be a holy state of a lawful deity it only makes sense that the Walker is being used to circumvent the non-interference pact.
