i am purchasing the classic dnd rulebooks on ebay (ebay rokz!), and i was wondering what the earliest dragonlance campaign book was. it was probably adnd, but i wanted to make sure, since i love the idea of mixing classic dnd with my favorite fantasy setting.

Dragonlance Adventures was the first Dragonlance rulebook published and it was for AD&D 1st edition. I donĀ“t think there are any Dragonlance rulebooks for the classic Dungeons & Dragons game

No, there weren't any classic D&D (aka OD&D) rules for Dragonlance.

Dragonlance began as an AD&D 1e setting. The first rulebook actually was DL5 (Dragons of Mystery?). Then there was Dragonlance Adventures in AD&D 1e, the Tales of the Lance boxed set in AD&D 2e, the Fifth Age boxed set with SAGA, and now the Dragonlance Campaign Setting for D&D 3.5.

DL5 may be very difficult to find. I had a tough time finding my copy years ago. Dragonlance Adventures was re-released as a mini-book, so you might have better luck finding that.

www.hitpointe.com occasionally has Dragonlance Adventures and Dragonlance: 5th Age Boxed Set. Tales of the Lance is usually hard to find.

Also, www.svgames.com occasionally has them. And the other day Jamie pointed out a website that had all those...unfortunately, I can't remember what it was.
