I have seen it mentioned here a lot, but I have no idea what it is.

Simple answer to this one.

Paizo is the company that is putting out Dragon and Dungeon, now. The "Paizo version" is the version that was presented in Dragon 110 & 111 and in that Dungeon mag whom I am too lazy to look up right now.

It's actually Dragon 315 and 319, and Dungeon 110 and 111, but otherwise the information is correct.
It's also generally considered to be less thought out and less well presented than the athas.org stuff.

Dungeon/Dragon: they both have vowels and consonants and stuff. :D

The problem was probably more at the editorial level, where an idea was handed over to Paizo and Paizo said: "This is too different from the mainstream. Let's sex it up a bit." And they did, but it was more necrophelia and beastuality than any other joining.

Paizo's version is more of a Player's Handbook-centric version, allowing for all the PHB classes to be used.

Athas.org's version is more of a setting-centric version, trying to stay true to the setting.

Well put.
